This past weekend, SPH NYC was invited again to be part of the Ninth Ave Food Festival, an annual tradition that SPH has joined for many years.

There’s something about this time that feels like summer in New York in its fullest form. Music blasting down the block, street food in the air, multilingual conversations happening all at once, kids running around with fresh face paint, and people finding little pockets of rest in the middle of the chaos.

Every year, we show up hoping to share the love of Christ through connection, joy, and community. Through puppet shows, face painting, prayer, and conversations, we got to witness so many meaningful interactions throughout the weekend.

One of the biggest joys this year was watching our volunteer friends, especially our Heartbeat teens, bring to life, once again, the heart of loving and serving NYC. They welcomed people so warmly, prayed boldly, connected with kids and families, and served with so much care.

Our facepainting and puppet times continued to surprise us in the sweetest ways. What starts off as play and laughter often opens the door for deeper conversations, encouragement, prayer, and reminders that people are seen and deeply loved.

One of our favorite parts of the weekend was the little “stoop” vibes that formed in the middle of Ninth Ave. During such a hot weekend, people lingered to rest, talk, laugh, share stories, and simply be together for a while. Old friends stopped by, neighbors came back to visit, and new friends asked for prayer.

We’re so thankful for every volunteer friend who came to help make this weekend happen. From setup to cleanup, from praying with strangers to dancing to “Sonríele” in the middle of the heatwave, every person helped create such a joyful and welcoming space for the community.

Feeling really grateful for every conversation and small moment of connection this weekend. ✨

We’re so excited to share that our incredible friend , a beloved friend at SPH NYC, has created a beautiful art piece called A Map of the Wonderful Isle of Manhattan. ✨

Brandon has been such a gift to our community. He faithfully volunteers with us both front and behind the scenes, loving and serving our neighbors in so many thoughtful ways. This new piece reflects so much beauty, detail, and love.

Even more special…SPH NYC is included on the map too. ✨

Brandon is selling 13” x 19” color prints and is generously donating all net proceeds from the prints to SPH NYC to support our programs and neighbors here in Hell’s Kitchen.

We would love to invite you to join in by purchasing a print, supporting local art, and helping care for our neighbors through SPH NYC!! Whether you’re a NYC/Manhattan lover, art collector, or simply want a meaningful piece for your wall, this map is truly something special.

You can purchase a print through the link in our bio! :)

Big shout out and love to you, hermano!!! 🫶🏽 ✨

Wishes do come true! ✨

Katherine, one of our faithful Creighton’s Cafe neighbors, showcasing a gift she received. All made possible from a volunteer who claimed an item off of our “Love Thy Neighbor” wishlist.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a much needed item(s) that has been put to use immediately upon receipt! (check out our “Love Thy Neighbor” series.)

It matters more that we can show up together than alone and you help us express this value. That’s what St. Paul’s House is all about!

If you missed this wishlist campaign, don’t fret! We’ll share another one in coming seasons 🎁

Some people say hope is hard to find but…
We see it every day at St. Paul’s House: served on a tray, shared in a conversation, celebrated in a warm room.

On Giving Tuesday, help us keep hope visible to our NYC neighbors who join us for our soup kitchen, pantry program, and holiday dinners. Your gift today extends compassion, dignity, and Christ-centered love to our neighbors.

Please consider contributing to our work as we serve our community together! Link in bio

Heartbeat Hangouts - One of our Heartbeat teens, Christian, led us through such an encouraging and timely devotional that spoke right to where we are. ✨

We opened Judges 6 to 8 and sat with the story of Gideon, how God meets us in our doubts, speaks peace into our fears, and reminds us that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. 🙌🏼

Christian shared with so much sincerity and courage, pointing us back to how God shows up in the ordinary and calls us to trust Him even when we feel unqualified. 🔥

It was one of those moments that reminded us how alive God’s Word is, and how beautiful it is to see our teens not only growing in faith, but leading with such humility and heart. 🫶🏼

So grateful for these nights where we get to slow down together, open Scripture, share stories, and be reminded that God is at work in our community in ways big and small. 💛

So much gratitude for the ways God weaves stories and people together. ✨

Last week, we celebrated 25+ years connected with Hope for New York (HFNY), a partnership that has blessed our neighbors and helped us continue showing up with food, love, and care.

We’re also deeply thankful for our Hope Church NYC friends, who hosted their VIBE concert with the heart of loving neighbors. It was a beautiful night of artistry, community, and generosity, with proceeds going to support SPH and the work of serving our neighbors.

And for our friends at the Dream Center NYC, a big shout out to the epic Dream Night event! Dream Center has been a steady partner in the Hunger Collective. Your care helps us continue to give food more intentionally, supporting us in cultivating space where neighbors can be seen and loved.

We’re so thankful as well for our volunteer friends from all communities, who continue to walk alongside us each week in loving our neighbors with food, dignity, and care. You make this work
possible. ✨

Thank you , , and for the ways you love and serve our neighbors alongside us.

We’re excited to keep walking together as neighbors as we go in sharing hope and building community for years to come. 🌿
