God's promise is in the process: Growth
Genesis 1:11
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
In the first chapter of Genesis, we learn that we serve an almighty God who is loving, creative, and most of all, methodical.
During the process of creation, He lays a foundation of definitive clarity of antecedent and consequent: Heavens and earth, light and dark, day and night, land and water. This illustrates how whole the process of God is. There is no obscurity or vagueness in God's process.
Verse 11 displays God's emphasis on the process of growth. From the commencement of time and matter, God has perfectly designed this unique assembly line of: soil->seed->tree->fruit
This revelation is intended to remind us of our growth process in Christ. Most of us are concerned about the end result: The blossoming tree, a beautiful flower, a packed church, a perfect family, or a happy life but because God is methodical in His design, it is our purpose to seek God's promise in the process.
Evaluation:
1. Is my soil healthy? Have I associated myself in an environment and lifestyle suitable for Kingdom growth?
2. Am I a seed or a pebble? Have I allowed God to intervene in my life, place me deeply in the foundation of His presence, and prepare me for growth? Or have I hardened myself, lifeless and unable to be nurtured?
3. Do I produce fruit? Am I living for God with the intention of being the tallest tree, or am I living for God with the purpose of Kingdom propagation?
Philippians 1:6
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
God's PROMISE is in the PROCESS. Let's allow ourselves to be perfectly placed in the process of the Almighty God.
