As we begin a New Year, let us reflect on the trailblazers who made 2025 special. On December 10th, 2025, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) named 5 individuals and climate activists as the 2025 Champions of the Earth. These 5 exceptional leaders show that change can and should be made. Each has been awarded its own category: Entrepreneurial Vision, Science and Innovation, Inspiration and Action, Lifetime Achievement, and Policy Leadership. Swipe through to read a little about each one, and you can find more information at UNEP.ORG.

Today is International Migrants Day. We recognize and uplift the work done by migrants all around the world!

Not enough is being done to protect migrants around the world. It must be a safer and more welcoming process.

Today is Human Rights Day. The Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations has a long history in the global community. Active in the United Nations since its formation in 1945, the church has held special consultative status through the U.N. Economic and Social Council since 1998. This allows the Presbyterian voice to be heard by the global audience and contribute to its agenda by attending conferences, making statements, and taking part in advocacy and networking.

Amid the restless spirits and often-tough diplomacy of the United Nations, the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations helps inspire, equip, and connect Presbyterians for ministry as faithful disciples of Jesus in the global community. We educate with the hope of helping individuals live out God’s call in Christ to live with compassion, seek peace, and pursue justice wherever they go.
