It is with profound sadness that we regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved friend and neighbor Moises Marmolejo.

For decades, Moises was a dedicated parishioner of Nativity Church and recently Most Holy Redeemer. May perpetual light shine upon him 🕊️

Dear friends: George M. Anderson, SJ, longtime associate editor at America Magazine - The Jesuit Review and a brilliant priest and writer who penned the lion's share of our articles and editorials on social justice issues in the 1990s and 2000s, especially on homelessness, torture, and incarceration, has died at the age of 86. George, a man who lived exceedingly simply, was an active member of the Catholic Worker Movement and a dedicated Apostle of the Poor.

Jim Keane, our literary editor remembered today: "George lived in Brooklyn but worked at America’s offices on 56th street in Manhattan. He took the subway every day to 14th, then walked the rest of the way, because he thought no priest should have it better than Christ’s poor."

May he rest in peace.

Here is one of my favorite of his articles, on Dorothy Day: https://www.americamagazine.org/issue/748/many-things/many-things
