Metro Hope Church A diverse community church in East Harlem that serves those who serve the world.

We do this by being woven together in Christ and by walking in the rhythms of God's grace together. Vision: Metro Hope will witness a people restored to union with God, transformed by rhythms of grace experienced in radical community, with neighborhoods woven together by the shalom of Jesus Christ, leading to spiritual renewal in the personal, social, economic and cultural fabric of New York City and beyond.

As Christians, we have hope that the reality of heaven will one day pierce through our current oppression and suffering. But we also have faith – faith that allows us to live out this hope in our day-to-day life. As people of faith living under empire, we need both to survive!

This Sunday, we will be joined by our beloved Pastor José! Together, we will be reminded that the righteous live by faith. Just like Habakkuk kept watch, waiting for God’s justice to come, we too are waiting with anticipation for wrongs to be made right. Unlike the pride and power that is dominating our political landscape, we are people of faith who wait with hopeful expectation. This waiting is not passive, but inspires us to actions of care and mutuality, knowing that one day God will finally answer our prayers for justice. Join us as we live in faith together.

It’s actually perfectly acceptable to be mad at God – especially when we are suffering! It doesn’t mean that we don’t love God, or that God won’t continue to love us. God can handle our anger and our questioning. Even more, God welcomes it – we don’t have to hide the depths of our pain!

Join us for a six-month virtual journey of deep listening — to yourself, to God, and to the community around you. Meeting monthly, this cohort will help you identify your gifts, discover where they can be put to use, and articulate a life purpose statement you can live from. Over the course of six sessions, we'll learn from a host of guest speakers and each other as we cover the following:

➡Gifts & skills assessment — naming what you carry and how it's meant to be used
➡Opportunities to serve — in the church and in the wider community
➡A life purpose statement — putting words to your calling
➡Spiritual grounding in vocation — rooting "what you do" in "who you are"

This Sunday, we continue our “But I Will Rejoice” series. Rev. Dieula will reflect on how we can practice patience in uncertain times. How can we remain in a posture of patient expectation for God’s intervention, when ourselves and so many around us are suffering so much? How do we balance waiting on God with the need to take sacred action? Habakuk, too, wrestled with this tension, and perhaps we can find wisdom in his questioning. Join us as we wait on God this Sunday!

This Sunday, we continue our, “But I Will Rejoice” series, where we’re exploring the mix of suffering and hope depicted by the prophet Habakkuk. In Part 2, Pastor Jordan will show how Habakkuk offers a strange kind of hope. Habakkuk prophesied that the pain and suffering of Israel would make way for God’s justice. In the face of our own suffering, how are we to find the strange hope that God provides? Join us in hope this Sunday!
