We had a magical time at Shabbat in the Hamptons! From pool time, to pizza and an ice cream truck, to singing and Havdalah with Shira and Rabbi Rebecca, we loved being together with our friends. Thanks to our Director of Early Childhood Cindy and her family for hosting us. We can’t wait to see you back at Central in the fall.

Limonana is a classic Middle Eastern drink which is incredibly popular in Israel. Limonana is just a few simple ingredients: lemon (limon), mint (nana), sugar, and water!! Blended together or just served over ice, this is sure to be a fan favorite on a hot day.

Tisha B’Av is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, where we remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem and many other tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people over time. Eicha, the Book of Lamentations, is read in synagogues around the world on the holiday. It is a difficult and disturbing book but it ends with a beautiful message of hope. Even in the most difficult times for the Jewish people, we never give up hope and we always work to return to God and to one another. In the inevitable darkness of the world, the Jewish people strive to be a light. -Rabbi Rebecca Rosenthal
