🙏 Prayers for Lord David Alton of Liverpool 🙏

Yesterday in Victoria, central London, tragedy struck when a red No. 24 bus 🚍 veered off the road outside the Victoria Palace Theatre, crashing into a bus stop and injuring seventeen people. Among them was my dear friend, Lord David Alton, who sustained serious back and head injuries. 💔

Lord Alton — former MP for Liverpool, devoted Crossbench Peer, and lifelong advocate for human rights and freedom of belief 🌍 — has inspired generations through his faith, courage, and compassion. His voice has defended the persecuted and uplifted the forgotten.

Educated at Stonyhurst College 🏰, sustained by prayer at Westminster Cathedral ⛪️, and teaching still at Liverpool University 🎓, his life’s work bridges intellect and conscience, conviction and grace.

🌟 Honouring Father Michael Seed 🌟

Since 1995, I’ve been blessed to call Father Michael Seed a friend, mentor, and guide—someone whose kindness, quiet faith, and generous spirit shaped my life profoundly 🙏✨.

In recent years, Father Michael stepped away from public life due to health challenges 🕊️. Yet all who knew and loved Father Michael—friends, colleagues, and those who became family—carry his spirit with warmth and gratitude 💞.

Father Michael never asked, “How are you?” Inspired by a traditional Irish expression of care 🍀, Father Michael would gently ask:

“How is your heart today?” 💛❤️

That question reflects how Father Michael lived: present, compassionate, and deeply attentive. In a world of noise and haste 📱, Father Michael made time, truly listened 👂, and deeply cared ❤️.

Friendships nurtured by Father Michael crossed faiths—uniting Jews ✡️, Muslims ☪️, and Christians ✝️ with sincerity and openness 🤝.

The story of the Wedding at Cana (John 2:1–11) was close to Father Michael’s heart—where Jesus turned water into wine:

“You have saved the best till now.” — John 2:10 🍷

“On this mountain the Lord of hosts will prepare for all peoples a feast of well-aged wine…” — Isaiah 25:6 🍇🍷

A promise of joy and welcome. That spirit lived in Father Michael—hospitality, celebration, and care, freely given.

Father Michael served as Ecumenical Adviser to the Archbishops of Westminster, authored works of faith 📚, co-founded “A Night Under the Stars” 🎭🏙️, was honoured by Pope John Paul II, and brought grace to every sacred moment he celebrated ⛪🏛️.

Father Michael Seed lived with dignity and love. His voice is missed, but his question remains:

In 1928, Edward M. M. Warburg and Lincoln Kirstein were classmates at Harvard. Edward M. M. Warburg, Lincoln Kirstein, and John Walker III founded the Harvard Society for Contemporary Art, organizing exhibitions that introduced Picasso, Matisse, O’Keeffe, Hopper, Brancusi, and Calder to Harvard audiences for the first time. 🎨📚

In 1933, Edward M. M. Warburg and Lincoln Kirstein invited George Balanchine to New York. Edward M. M. Warburg later recalled: “I went to my father for the money, and he gave it to me.” With that support, Edward M. M. Warburg and Lincoln Kirstein opened the School of American Ballet on January 2, 1934 at 637 Madison Avenue. 🩰✨ In June 1934, students of George Balanchine performed Serenade at the Warburg family estate in White Plains, marking the beginning of American ballet. 🌟🇺🇸

In 1936, Edward M. M. Warburg and Lincoln Kirstein established the American Ballet, which became the foundation for the New York City Ballet. Over 50. Rebuilding. Stronger than I’ve ever been.

“As your days, so shall your strength be.” — Deuteronomy 33:25

There’s a lot of talk lately about whether Americans were healthier decades ago. The reality is: life expectancy is longer today than it was in the 1960s. Chronic disease existed then, as it does now.

What’s changed is what we know:

💪 Strength training protects your body as you age
🥩 Smart nutrition supports energy and muscle recovery
🧘‍♂️ Balance, mobility, and stretching are essential
💤 Rest and consistency matter as much as effort
