God has blessed Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church to be a loving place of worship for 90 years in the Harlem community. Today the doors of the church are closing, but the spirit of the Lord that was shared within these church walls and with the congregation every Sunday will live on forevermore. We leave you with these words from Psalm 100:
"Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.[a]
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation." AMEN!

Today we join Rev. Tisha M. Jermin to celebrate the history and legacy of our beloved church for the last time. All are welcomed to join our final Worship Service today at 9:30 AM.
Beginning, July 5th at 10:00 AM, Worship Services, with Rev. Dr. John E. Carrington will be held at the newly formed "merged church" of Mt. Calvary & St. Mark's UMC at 49-55 Edgecombe Avenue @ 137th Street, Harlem, NY.

What an awesome Worship Service today! Thank you Elder Warren Hicks for your message from Haggai 2:9, "Better Is Coming" and reminding us:
That God want us to know that even when we don't understand, we must trust in God's plan for us.
That when we see calamity all around, there is still a place of hope found in the Word of God.
That even in difficult times and times of uncertainty, God is still our strong tower and worthy to be praised.
That to continue to trust in God "through" it all.
God will take care of you! Our better is yet to come. AMEN!

The Mt. Calvary UMC family share our prayers of love, comfort and peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding, with the victims, families, and the church family of Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, SC. May God's arms of comfort surround you and uphold you during this sad time.
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ."
