Want to feel truly alive? Cut down on your phone time! Our over-reliance on digital devices takes us out of the present and blocks our connection with others and our own emotions. Our phones can also be a breeding ground for negative mindsets like addiction, loneliness and low self-esteem.

This workshop will offer practical strategies for cutting down on digital distraction using timeless Buddhist teachings. We will learn how to create realistic boundaries for our device use and relate to our emotions in healthy ways rather than escaping into our devices. Finally, we will see how to extract the greatest meaning from our life with the space we’ve created.

In this special all-day meditative workshop, we will explore how to identify and let go of limited, fearful, scarcity-based thinking. Instead, we can use the power of our mind and imagination to create a world where everyone wins.

The day will include plenty of time for contemplation, discussion and planning how to integrate this win-win mindset into everyday life—for the benefit of ourselves and others. Everyone is welcome!

The long-term perspective espoused by Buddhist thought is clarifying and freeing. We stop sweating the small stuff as we base our thinking on the vast time horizon of countless past and future lives. This view helps us understand our idiosyncrasies and confusions, illuminating the path forward. Specifically, focus on what matters—creating good intentions, loving people more, and making a positive difference in the world.

Come learn the ins and outs of rebirth, the formless continuum of our mind and what it all means for the ‘here and now’ of our present life.

Everyone welcome!

We all want world peace, but without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. KMC Brooklyn’s mission is to support peace throughout the world by helping people find peace in their hearts first. This will naturally spread to our neighborhoods, the entire borough and the world.

We will gather at the center at 11 am on Sunday for a short talk and meditation to connect to our own love and compassion and imagine a world full of peaceful people.

Then, from 12-1 pm, we will walk through the neighborhoods and finish with lunch.

Everyone, including furry friends, is welcome!

“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be achieved unless we first establish peace within our own minds.” ~Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Our annual Walk For World Peace is coming up June 17th! Everyone gets a cool shirt 👕👚 and it’s a brand new design this year 👍👍👍
