It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Kinu Ashton Rochford.

Kinu was a beloved son, family member, friend, mentor, and athlete whose life touched many throughout Brooklyn and beyond. Known for his love of basketball and his positive impact on those around him, he leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

According to news reports, Kinu tragically lost his life following a shooting during a community basketball event in Harlem. His passing has sent shockwaves through the basketball community and all who knew and loved him.

Please keep Kinu, his parents, family, friends, teammates, and loved ones in your sincere du’as during this difficult time.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anisa Latif Green, a long time member of the Masjid At-Taqwa community since her childhood.

Anisa was deeply connected to our community through her family and lifelong ties to Masjid At-Taqwa. She was the daughter of Sister Wadiyah Latif and the stepdaughter of Imam Siraj Wahhaj. She leaves behind a loving husband, sons, brothers, extended family, and many friends and community members whose will surely miss her.
