The front garden at Brooklyn Meeting has gotten a refresh thanks to a coalition of Brooklyn Frontiers students, Audubon Society reps, Brooklyn Friends, and quarterly meeting staff. The Frontiers students worked with the Audubon society to redesign the gardens with hardy, native plants that will better sustain our birds and bugs. Students completed one half of the garden on June 4 and Friends covered the other half on June 16. It felt great to dig around in the dirt and tend to plants!

Beloved Friend Bob Wilber's memorial meeting was held at Brooklyn Meeting and online this past weekend. Bob was a long time attender at Brooklyn and maintained his membership at Ohio Yearly Meeting. He served the New York Quarterly Meeting as cemetery sexton for over 30 years. Read NYQM Executive Director Ted Bongiovanni's reflections on Bob at http://nycquakers.org/blog/remembering-bob-wilber.

The first image is a portrait of Bob from April 2025. The second slide in this post shows the Cemetery Committee with Bob in the center (seated), from Dec. 1, 2023.

Brought to you by the New York Quarterly Meeting's Concern for Quaker Living group.

Worship with Friends outside at 6 pm this Thursday! We gather for silent worship in a quiet oasis at the southern tip of Manhattan: the Battery Park Labyrinth. Battery Park was full of scaffolding and construction last year, but Sally C. tells me, "the wall that had been surrounding the labyrinth has come down so we can see the Statue of Liberty, the sailboats and even better people passing by can see the labyrinth." All are welcome!
