It was a Spirit filled Sunday at CHR! This weekend, twenty-five members of our parish stood before Bishop Allen Shin to confirm their faith in Jesus, reaffirm their baptismal vows, or be received into The Episcopal Church.

The Sacramental Rite of Confirmation is a beautiful moment in the life of the Church, as we publicly claim the faith first given in baptism, and say “YES!” to the life God is calling us into. Surrounded by prayer, community, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, it was day we won't soon forget!

We are so grateful for the witness of our confirmands, and for everyone who journeyed alongside them through the catechumenate process beginning in February. Our Heavenly Wednesday formation nights continue through May. Join us at 6:00pm for Evening Prayer, followed by fellowship and programming at 6:30pm. This is the place to be formed in Christ!

“The belief that we proclaim, it is not a box we check to get from this side of life to the other, it is not the way we get our ticket into heaven. It is meant to be, I think, a kind of trust that builds within us.”

After our 14 week Catechumenate Process, gathering on Wed nights for formation, prayer, and fellowship, we celebrated an incredible Confirmation Sunday with Bishop Allen Shin!!!

What a joyful and Spirit filled day as these disciples publicly claimed their faith and embraced the call to follow Jesus in lives of love, service, and hope. The Holy Spirit was truly moving among us, and we give thanks for each person who took this sacred step in their journey of faith.

Please keep our confirmands in your prayers as they continue to grow in Christ and live out the Gospel in the world. Thanks be to God!!

"The psalms are not just prayers that we recite, or that we sing - they're how we learn to speak to God. They give us words shaped by divine tradition across generations from every human emotion."
