¡Aleluya! ¡Aleluya!
La celebración de la Vigilia Pascual tuvo lugar el sábado por la noche. La iglesia estaba repleta de feligreses y visitantes, junto con los candidatos y catecúmenos que recibirían los Sacramentos de la Iniciación cristiana. La liturgia —que comenzó con la entrada de la Luz de Cristo en una iglesia sumida en la oscuridad— resaltó la importancia de la Luz de Cristo en nuestras vidas y la responsabilidad que tenemos de compartir esa luz con los demás.
El *Exultet* fue entonado por el Padre Von una vez que el Cirio Pascual fue colocado en su soporte, en un lugar destacado junto al altar. Allí permanecerá hasta el final del tiempo pascual. La liturgia continuó entonces con las lecturas, las cuales enfatizaron el camino de la salvación a través del Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento.
A continuación, se celebraron los bautismos de los adultos que habían participado durante dos años en el programa parroquial de la OCIA. A esto siguió la celebración del sacramento de la Confirmación para aquellos que también participaron en el programa de la OCIA, pero que ya habían sido bautizados. Durante la celebración de la Eucaristía, los adultos que habían recibido los sacramentos hicieron su Primera Comunión.
El Domingo de Pascua, antes de la misa en español de las 11:00 a. m., el grupo que participó en la procesión del Viernes Santo representó el momento en que María Magdalena, Pedro y el otro discípulo descubren el sepulcro vacío. También representaron la aparición de Jesús a Tomás, quien no quiso creer a los discípulos hasta que vio al Jesús resucitado con sus propios ojos.
Un agradecimiento especial a todos aquellos que decoraron el santuario, a quienes prepararon a los que recibieron los sacramentos durante los últimos dos años, y al coro, que contribuyó a hacer de esta celebración un momento de mayor recogimiento y oración, y a aquellos que participaron en la procesión del Viernes Santo. Que sigamos creciendo como parroquia y llevemos la Luz de Cristo —que todos hemos recibido— para compartirla con todos aquellos que la necesitan.

The celebration of the Easter Vigil took place Saturday evening. The church was full of parishioners and visitors along with the candidates and catechumens who would be receiving the Sacraments of Imitation. The liturgy, which begin with the light of Christ entering the church in darkness highlighted the importance of the Light of Christ in our lives and the responsibility we have to share that light with others.
The Exalutet was sung by Fr Von once the Paschal Candle was placed in the stand prominently displayed on the altar. It will remain there until the end of the Easter season. The liturgy then continued with the readings which emphasized the journey of salvation through the Old and New Testament.
The baptisms then took place of the adults who participated in the parish OCIA program for two years. This was followed by the celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation for those who also participated in the OCIA program but were already baptized. During the celebration of the Eucharist the adults who received sacraments then made their first communion.
On Easter Sunday, before the 11am Spanish mass, the group that presented to Good Friday Street procession did a re-enactment of Mary Magdalen’s, Peter and the other disciple discovering the empty tomb. They also presented the visitation of Jesus to Thomas who would not believe the disciples until he experienced the resurrected Jesus with his own eyes.
Special thanks to all those who decorated the sanctuary, prepared those who received sacraments for the past two years and to the choir who helped to make the celebration more prayerful, and to those who participated in the Good Friday Street procession. May we continue to grow as a parish and take the light of Christ that we all received and share it with all those in need.
