After eight years at St John's Fr Graeme will be returning to Australia. (More information about the particular role in the Anglican Church of Australia when they are ready to announce at the Australian end.)
His last liturgy, with a farewell party in our lovely garden, will be on Wednesday 3 June: 6.30pm Eucharist for the Eve of Corpus Christi, Procession of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, and Cook-Out.
New Yorker friends of the parish are all very welcome. Even if you are not religious you will enjoy the beautiful music (some of it commissioned by St John's during my incumbency) and, of course, plentiful time in the garden with food and drink.
Clergy friends of the parish: you are welcome to robe. If you would like to please email Fr Graeme.
Everyone who can come and stay for the Cook-Out please help us get the catering right by registering here:

Sometime before the Pandemic St John's was pleased to welcome Mark Spyropoulos from the Medici Archives Project in Italy. He had recently made an edition of a 16th century Florentine mass setting and, with NYC singers, performed it in concert here in NYC, but also liturgically here at St John's in the Village, the first time it had been sung liturgically in many centuries.
His research and music-making in the field of music from the time of the Medici in Florence continues under the auspices of Mascarade Opera and includes an annual choral course for young singers.

The Florence Choral Course 2026 (5 to 12 July) is a wonderful opportunity for young singers to immerse themselves in 16th century Florentine polyphony.
The course is now full apart from one tenor scholarship. Although the deadline for application was today (1 May) they are accepting applications from tenors for a while yet.

All the details are here:

The Fondazione Mascarade Opera is an independent non-profit organisation. Our year-round programme for exceptionally talented young opera singers and répétiteurs is based on the most recent research in the fields of voice science and performance psychology.
