Today, we joyfully commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Election of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the Apostolic and Patriarchal Throne of Constantinople.

For thirty-five years, His All-Holiness has been a steadfast witness to the Gospel, a voice for peace and unity, and a tireless advocate for the care of God’s creation.

The entire community of Saint George & Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church offers its heartfelt prayers and filial love, asking our Lord to grant His All-Holiness many more years of health, strength, and blessed ministry.

"We shall continue, in word and deed, to promote the ecological vision of the Holy Great Church of Christ and the eco-friendly dynamism of the eucharistic, ascetic, and doxological relationship with creation, always underscoring that careful theological work is needed for the elucidation of the authentic ecological message of our Orthodox faith and tradition, for the benefit of creation, which is 'very good.'"

Our church has stood as a place of faith and community for generations. Today, we have an opportunity and a responsibility to preserve it for those who will come after us.

A major restoration project is underway to repair our exterior walls and waterproofing systems. This essential work, estimated at $400,000, will protect our church from further deterioration and help secure its future for generations to come.

Whether you are able to give at the Foundation, Stone, Pillar, Arch, Cornerstone, or Heritage level, your contribution will directly support this important effort.

Together, let us strengthen the foundation of our parish and preserve this sacred place we all love.

☦ Please support the Restoration Fund: https://stgeorge-stdemetrios.ny.goarch.org/donations/church-restoration/

Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and commitment to our church family.
