Great improvements to Woodland Cemetery: New wider roadways, paved area for services and visitation, new "stepped" foundations for future burials and a new look for the historic Receiving Tomb. Still working on resetting headstones and then surveying the Vereinplatz area.

Lots of work going on...new foundations, wider roads and new curbing. All to make Woodland more attractive and better suited to today's families.

Please be aware that there will be construction work going on in Woodland Cemetery for at least the next week. We are adding foundations to support many older headstones and to better accommodate future burials in the new section. Then we will be repaving roadways and creating a better area to accommodate hearse arrivals and off loading. All graves will be restored and the final outcome will be a significant improvement. Access may be limited during this construction.

Different cultures have different customs. Here, a recent burial at Woodland featured a 16 piece Mariachi band to celebrate the lost loved one.

A cemetery that is over 170 years old is still accommodating large services for folks who choose in ground burials. Two services today...this was a big crowd.
