East End Temple

East End Temple Reform Jewish community in Manhattan filled with joy and dedicated to learning, justice, and prayer.

East End Temple is a vibrant downtown Manhattan Reform congregation. Our mission is to cultivate relevant Jewish life through connected community. We seek to expand avenues into Torah (Jewish learning and practice), God (all forms of spiritual connection) and the Jewish people (locally and globally) to help one another live lives of meaning.

Honoring the leaders who help shape our community ✨

Last night’s congregational meeting brought together past, present, and future presidents alongside our board, staff, and clergy. Grateful to outgoing presidents Brian and Rebecca, excited for presidents-elect Stacy and Fletcher, and thankful for the continued leadership of Karen, Edna, and Derek. 🫶

🎶✨ This Friday at Shabbat with a Bop! ✨🎶

Get a sneak peek of one of the original compositions that will be featured Friday night — “Lecha Dodi / Twilight,” composed by our talented congregant Paul Shapiro and beautifully sung by his daughter, Lila, who will be making a special guest appearance during services. 💫

Come groove with us as we celebrate Shabbat through a mix of familiar melodies and new original music created by members of our own community. We can’t wait to share this special evening together. 🎷🕯️🎵

Every Monday, our class gathers with students from around the world to learn together. Last year, we met under a different name — Being Jewish Post October 7 — funded by UJA-Federation of New York.

This Shabbat, Andrea, Nancy, Tehilah, and Lily got to spend Shabbat services and oneg together in person. This is just a small portion of the class that has been learning together for the past two years (with some newer members, like Andrea, joining this year!).

Our fuller class is already looking forward to coming together again in July, when classmates travel to NYC from South Carolina and Florida. 💗🕯️🫶
