-Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸 Today, we celebrate Old Glory and the freedom it represents. Whether it’s flying on your front porch or displayed in your community, the Stars and Stripes remind us of our nation’s unity and resilience.
Why we celebrate
• Adoption Date: Commemorates June 14, 1777, when the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official U.S. flag.
• Symbolism: Red stands for bravery, white for purity, and blue for vigilance and justice.
• Unity: Honors the sacrifices of those who have served under the banner to protect our liberty.

Celebrate 250 years of our nation with a powerful act of faith! 🇺🇸❤️
Today, as the United States marks its semiquincentennial anniversary, the U.S. Bishops will formally consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Why this historic move?
The Bishops voted for this consecration to:
• Seek divine protection and guidance for our nation's future.
• Invoke the healing power of Christ's love during a milestone year.
• Deepen the spiritual life of American Catholics through a timeless tradition.
What does this mean for you?
This is more than just a ceremony; it’s an invitation for every Catholic in America to renew their own devotion. As we look back on 250 years of history, we look forward by placing our hearts—and our country—into the hands of Jesus.

On this day in 1790, Mary Bayley and Dr. Wright Post were married! đź’Ť
Mary was the older sister of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and their lives remained closely intertwined through both joy and sorrow:
• A Medical Match: Dr. Wright Post was a prominent physician who studied under Mary’s father, Dr. Richard Bayley. 🩺
• Devoted Sister: Mary was six years older than Elizabeth. In 1812, she and Wright traveled from New York to Emmitsburg to support Elizabeth following the death of her daughter, Anna Maria. ❤️
• Life in New York: The Posts made their home in New York City, where they raised seven children.
We love honoring the family history and the deep bonds that supported Mother Seton throughout her journey! 🕊️

Today, we honor the memory of William Seton, Sr., a foundational figure in New York’s merchant history and the patriarch of the Seton family, who passed away on June 9, 1798, at the age of 52.
A man of immense responsibility and character, William was a co-founder of the Bank of New York and a prominent merchant through the firm Seton, Maitland & Co. Known for his hospitality and dedication to family, he left behind a large legacy, including 13 children from two marriages.
His death marked a significant turning point for his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Seton, and her husband, William Magee Seton, who took on the responsibility of caring for his many younger siblings.
William is interred in Trinity Churchyard in Lower Manhattan, a testament to his prominent role in the early days of our city.
