Longtime pastors will lead five deaneries in the Diocese of Brooklyn, and three priests have been incardinated.

Under Canon Law a bishop, in this case Bishop Robert Brennan, organizes neighboring parishes into regions called “deaneries.”

He also appoints a senior priest, or “dean”, to be his liaison to the deanery with administrative and pastoral support.
