The pessimistic view would be that because that every day is rare no day is special. Actually, the fact that every day is rare means to look up into the sky means seeing something you will never see again. Every day is something to behold, to wonder about.

Day 2 of our retreat will be March 10, 12-4pm, in Prospect Lefferts, Brooklyn. Everyone is welcome, even if you didn't make Day 1 of the retreat. We will refining our ideas and making concrete plans to put them into action!

12:55 - 1:10 – What do we call ourselves?
1:05 - 1:30 – Maximizing what we do
1:30 - 2:15 – Membership (what does it mean to be a member, how do people become members, rights/duties/leadership)
2:15-2:45 – Break
2:45 - 3:30 – Introducing a more regular gathering/service (what should it be/when/how often)
3:30 - 4:00 – Philosophy & texts (what kind of literature we want to develop, creating a reading list)
4:00 - 4:20 – Adding a 4th holiday service
4:20 - 4:50 – Life phase ceremonies
4:50 - 5:20 – How do we support socialist organizing

Love and solidarity to the Amazon warehouse workers in Staten Island who just voted to unionize in the face of the usual relentless, well-orchestrated union-busting effort by Bezos Corp.

They are the first Amazon warehouse in the US to vote to unionize in the company's history. Hopefully the first of many!

The Amazon Labor Union won the vote in the face of relentless union busting from one of the most powerful companies in the world.
