O Lord of Hosts, arise in your fury and confront every battle that has fed on the tears of your children.

Every affliction that has consumed their strength, every oppression that has made their youthful years feel ancient, every power that has mistaken their endurance for helplessness, let Your mighty hand shatter its hold today.

Let the siege break, let the oppressor lose its grip, and let the years that suffering has stolen witness the intervention of the almighty.

Every warning you must give, every lesson you must teach, every danger your child must be prepared for, receive the wisdom and urgency to do it in time. The Holy Spirit shall awaken your discernment, and the preserving power of God shall cover your children beyond what your eyes can see.

Your child shall not become the painful lesson you wish you had prevented. You will not be left with memories of what you should have done in Jesus name.

The fact that it happened before does not mean it must happen again. There is a limit the wicked must never cross, and there is a future that must not become a memorial of yesterday’s pain.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐅 𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐉𝐔𝐃𝐆𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓?

📖 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝟯:𝟭𝟬–𝟰:𝟰.

You can believe in the mercy of God and still struggle when that mercy reaches someone you believe should be punished.

Jonah carried God’s message to Nineveh. The people repented, and God withheld the destruction He had announced. But instead of rejoicing, Jonah became angry. He had preached the possibility of judgement, but he could not bear the mercy that followed their repentance.

Think about it. The prophet was not angry because God had failed to judge. He was angry because God had chosen to show mercy📌

Jonah knew that God was gracious and compassionate. He could testify to God’s character, yet he became displeased when that same character produced an outcome he did not want.

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭?

It is easy to celebrate mercy when you need it.
It is easy to ask God for another chance when your own mistakes are exposed.
But when someone else’s past offend you, can you accept that God is not limited to your personal judgement of that person?

Let this be clear. Mercy does not make wrongdoing right, erase accountability, or mean that every consequence disappears. But neither does our sense of justice give us the right to decide that another person must never receive mercy.

Jonah wanted Nineveh judged, yet he himself depended on the mercy of the God he was questioning. His anger exposed a contradiction he needed to confront.

And perhaps that is where many hearts need an honest examination. We want God to look beyond our failures, but sometimes we struggle when He looks beyond the failures of others.
