It may seem bizarre to think of yourself as a tool, but doing so will make you more conscious that God created you to carry out an assignment. A tool is meant to fulfill a purpose.
The other day, I needed to fix a hanging shelf in my guest bathroom. So, I got out the toolbox, opened it, and fished for a hammer and a screwdriver. There were other tools in that box, but they were not meant for the project I had at hand.
Every tool I had purchased and stored in that box was put there for a purpose.
One day, I will need the Allen key or the double-sided tape, or some other item in that box. But in every instance, the tool has to be suitable for the purpose intended.
You are a tool that is suitable for an intended purpose.
People who have discovered themselves do not need to copy others. Although they can learn from others or emulate what they admire in other people, they stay grounded in their gifts. They do not feel the need to be like anyone else. As I have heard said many times, “Everyone else is taken, be yourself.”
