Take a Luke 👁️✨ | The Sunday Rewind

This past Sunday was Unity Day and we celebrated Community Partnerships. Rev. Orsella R. Hughes brought a powerful word titled “We Rise Together!” from Jeremiah 29:4–7 (NRSVUE)!

God calls us not simply to be successful in our communities, but to be responsible for their well-being. Our individual success is connected to the flourishing of our neighbors. When we lift one another, WE RISE TOGETHER! 🙌🏾🌱✨

We were also blessed to celebrate Holy Baptism as a church family! What a joy to witness new life and growth in our congregation.

Take a Luke 👁️✨ | The Sunday Rewind

This past Sunday, Pastor Hughes brought an unforgettably timely message titled “All That Glitters Ain’t God!” from Exodus 32:7–8!

Don’t let what somebody has made cause you to forget what God has already done! In a world filled with manufactured promises, keep your confidence anchored in the living God. Everything that glitters isn’t God—and discernment is required in every area of our lives! 🙏🏾✨

That same call for discernment carried into our service as we welcomed NY Attorney General Letitia James! As she addressed the congregation ahead of the upcoming election, we were reminded that our faith calls us to stay engaged, exercise discernment, and make our voices heard at the ballot box. 🗳️🇺🇸

A Special Honor at Our Worship Service

We were truly honored to welcome New York State Attorney General Letitia James to our worship service. Her presence was a special occasion for our congregation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to welcome her into our church home. It was a memorable moment of fellowship and celebration for our church family.

We are incredibly BLESSED to have the absolute best ministerial staff leading our church family! 🙌🏾✨

Strong, Godly leadership is the backbone of a healthy church, and our ministers pour their hearts, prayers, and time into this community every single day.

From the powerful, truth-filled preaching each Sunday to the quiet moments of care, guidance, and support behind the scenes, their dedication never goes unnoticed.

Thank you to our Pastor and our entire clergy for answering the call and guiding us with such grace and wisdom. We love and appreciate you all! 🤍

Take a Luke 🧿✨ | The Sunday Rewind

“Let them reject you!” 🙌🏾 This past Sunday, Rev. Melissa McHenry brought a word that reminded us that God’s plan over our lives cannot be derailed by human rejection. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Rev. McHenry and the Saint James family for joining us and blessing our sanctuary with such a timely message from Matthew 21:33–45!

Here are 3 key takeaways to carry into your week:
🎯 Direction: Finding your position in Christ.
📐 Alignment: Living in line with His purpose.
⚓ Stability: Standing firm when life gets rough.

Swipe through to re-read the notes, catch the moments, and share this word with someone who needs encouragement this week! 📲

! Every pew in this sanctuary holds a legacy. Every journey here is unique, but God is always connecting the dots—and sometimes, He uses a best friend to do it.

Tying right into Sunday’s message on giving God your YES, Iman is sharing how saying “yes” to a friend’s invitation brought her through the doors of Saint Luke—leading her to officially join our church family this past Sunday!

Your yes to inviting someone could be the exact moment that brings them home. Who in your life is waiting for an invitation? Tag a friend in the comments or invite them to sit with you this Sunday! Welcome to Chapter 2!
