The first Noble Truth: Life is suffering (Dukkha), a better translation of Dukkha tho is dissatisfaction or unsatisfactory. And the root of suffering is attachment. We cling to things (become attached) in life and desire them to stay the same while failing to see that all things in life no matter how sturdy or permanent they appear will eventually change; including ourselves. That attachment and desire to control the uncontrollable is what then leads to our experiencing Dukkha. Until you learn to give up your attachments and accept that all things come and go, and learn the concept of impermanence and accept it, you will always suffer and be left dissatisfied.
