"The state can constrain the body... but what no human power can do is touch the soul itself."

As we close our series of updates from the historic Higher Ground Pilgrimage, we want to leave you with this image. It captures the true heart of everything our clergy experienced in Japan and South Korea.

When Bishop John Watts embraced this crying believer during a rally in Tokyo, language and cultural barriers instantly dissolved. In that moment, there was only the unconditional love of God and the unshakeable weight of global solidarity.

Our five Bishops didn't just bring back reports and legal updates; they brought back pieces of their souls and a renewed conviction that our global faith family stands unbroken.

We have compiled the individual personal testimonies of each of our five Bishops into a special YouTube playlist so you can experience the deep spiritual impact of this trip firsthand.

Watch their personal reflections here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-aofiGaFJ9ZC1HfyPcM83WoEmlJbK4Em

Please continue to keep our brothers and sisters in Japan and Korea in your daily prayers, remembering that wherever we go, we are the living church.

A few weeks ago, our ACLC clergy embarked on the profound and historic Higher Ground Tour 2026 to South Korea, dedicating their journey to spiritual renewal, global solidarity, and the restoration of the family.

A truly beautiful aspect of this pilgrimage was the deep spirit of unity, as our clergy walked side-by-side with leaders from the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and various other organizations. Coming together from different backgrounds, everyone stood as one in powerful solidarity for God's providence.

Throughout this sacred journey, the delegation walked a path of deep reflection, beginning with a meaningful holy ground pilgrimage to Cheongpadong and the original headquarters church. A major highlight was their collective investment into the next generation, as our leaders poured their hearts into a powerful Higher Ground service alongside 90 youth, contributing beautifully through music, speeches, and moving testimonies. Following an inspiring tour of Cheon Won Gung and a final closing banquet, our leaders returned home to the United States carrying a renewed anointing and a vision to heal historical divisions, rebuild our communities, and strengthen families across the nation.

โ€œBlessed Marriage and True Families: Godโ€™s Gateway to Heaven.โ€

On May 2nd, 2026, our ACLC clergy couples received the Cosmic Marriage Blessing in South Korea, standing alongside thousands of couples from every race, culture, and nation.

Officiated by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, this sacred tradition represents a profound covenant to bring God directly into the center of the marital bond. In the ACLC, we believe that true restoration begins within the family, and the Holy Marriage Blessing serves as a foundational step toward healing historical divisions and anchoring our communities in unconditional love.

We invite you to listen to a firsthand reflection from Apostle Jaliel and Pastor Michelle Thompson, who traveled to Korea for this grace. In their testimony, they share the deep spiritual impact of the ceremony, as well as a personal, prophetic dream that was beautifully fulfilled during their journey.

Watch Apostle Jaliel & Pastor Michelle Thompsonโ€™s Full Testimony Here: https://youtu.be/-4e66iOkTQc

As our pastors return to their respective ministries, they carry a renewed heart to bring the Marriage Blessing to their own congregationsโ€”continuing the quiet, steady work of rebuilding families and restoring our nation.

Please keep the Thompsons and all of our newly Blessed clergy couples in your prayers as they continue their ministry.

ACLC

Some moments are too powerful not to share โ€” even if a little late!

This past March 30 โ€“ April 1, we witnessed something truly historic at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City โ€” the official launch of the Family Church Alliance (formerly known as Associate Family Church/AFC)!

Faith leaders from across the nation gathered together in unity, prayer, and shared purpose. They deepened their understanding of the Marriage Blessing, visited the sacred grounds of Belvedere and East Garden, and in a powerful moment โ€” pastors officially committed to becoming a Family Church Alliance member.

"Not as Christians nor Unificationists โ€” but Unifiers, working together in Unity."

We may be sharing this a few weeks later, but the impact of that weekend continues to grow every single day.

โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

What is the Family Church Alliance?

The Family Church Alliance is a growing network of pastors and congregations committed to strengthening families through the Marriage Blessing โ€” a sacred covenant between couples and God to restore His original vision for the family. Member churches retain their full Christian identity while gaining access to resources, training, and a national network of like-minded faith communities. Together, we are working toward 100+ churches by 2027. We are stronger together!

A Global Stand for Faith: Our ACLC Clergy in Tokyo

Our ACLC clergies were able to attend a historic gathering in Tokyo this past April, crossing the ocean to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters in Japan.

During a time when the legal status of the Family Federation is being challenged, five of our dedicated Bishopsโ€”Bishop Ronald Thomas, Bishop Abram Dixon, Bishop Dr. Edward Barnett, Bishop Leonard Dew, and Bishop John Wattsโ€”brought a powerful message of solidarity to over one hundred second-generation believers.

Their message was clear: Religious freedom has no borders.

Bishop John Watts reminded the youth: "A place is not the church. You yourselves are the church where God dwells."

Bishop Dr. Edward Barnett declared: "The state can constrain the body... but what no human power can do is touch the soul itself."

It was a moving sight to see our American clergy and Japanese believers standing as one family under God. Despite the legal obstacles, our Bishops returned with a conviction that the work of God in Japan is unshaken. We continue to pray for the "walls of Jericho" to fall and for the victory of religious liberty worldwide!
