We are progressing with our redo of the church. Here is a picture of our organ being dismantled. It will be cleaned and redone. Amazing to watch as the workers label everything, turning it into a giant jigsaw puzzel.

Here's my favorite Thanksgiving Prayer:
Dear Lord, we are thankful for:
The mess to clean up after the party because it means we are surrounded by friends;
The taxes we pay because it means we are employed;
That clothes that fit a little snug, because it means we have food to eat;
A house and garden that need care because it means we have a home;
All the complaining we hear about the government because it means we have freedom of speech;
The space at the end of the parking lot, because it means we are capable of walking
The heating bill, because it means we are warm
Those who sing off key at church because it means we can hear
Piles of laundry because it means we have clothes to wear
Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means that we have been productive.
And the alarm that goes off in the early morning, because it means we are alive

May you find much to be thankful for.

Divine Parent, you are the beginning and end of all things. When the world turns upside down and we are confronted with natural or man-made disasters, or changes to our culture, remind us that you are our foundation of truth, and all else is but a passing moment in time. We know that we are able to share with the grace and salvation of your son, Jesus Christ, in your great eternal glory and Kingdom. For this we give our thanks. Amen

Prayer of the week: Divine Parent, who loves all of us. Help us to see that when we are lost in troubled ways that we are your children who can turn and receive your mercies. Help us to be people who forgive and assist those who search for goodness and right-living. Accept our praise and thanksgiving for all your mercies to us, and grant to us what we most need. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. Amen
