New Song Church Affirming Christian Ministry
Mission and vision statement:
Reclaiming our faith. Impacting our world.
“And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” -Revelation 5:9
New Song Church Affirming Christian Ministry includ
es LGBTQ+ and straight allies, children of God from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. Among us are men, women, and non-binary believers reclaiming our faith both individually and corporately within the Body of Christ. We hold that the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is a free gift for whoever believes in Him. Too often, religion is used to divide and exclude or is misappropriated for political or other purposes. By contrast, our mission is to help you nurture your relationship with Christ - by being a safe, healthy space for absolutely anyone and everyone who desires to cultivate their faith. We enter into relationship with Christ by receiving His salvation, and the redemption it offers, based on who He is, and what He did on Calvary to atone for our sins. We further develop this relationship with Christ through baptism in God’s Holy Spirit as well as baptism in water. We grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord through participation in liberating worship, careful study of the Bible, regular times of individual and corporate prayer and by hearing God’s words through Scripture, sermons, teaching, and prophecy. The Bible serves as our highest authority. We hold that the truths it establishes are not exclusionary, gender or race-biased, or anti-gay. We are not ashamed of the name of Jesus Christ because Christ is not ashamed of us. As our founding Scripture states, Christ was slain to redeem us all. He now lives anew within us because God loves us. Therefore, we boldly endeavor to be a church community that demonstrates God’s love, follows His word, walks in His Spirit, and pursues His presence. Our Vision: To nurture ambassadors for Christ that impact the culture by being a most accurate reflection of how God desires to operate in His world today. This is how we sing our New Song.
