It is with deep sorrow that we share the tragic news that our beloved General Overseer, Bishop Donald Maxwell, and his wife, Reverend Barbara Maxwell, transitioned unexpectedly from this earthly life on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
This great loss has deeply affected our church family and all who knew and loved them.
Bishop Maxwell served faithfully as both the General Overseer of the Pentecostal City Mission Churches and as pastor of the Far Rockaway City Mission Church. Rev. Maxwell served as assistant pastor of the Far Rockaway City Mission Church. Together, they lovingly and faithfully touched countless lives through their ministry, leadership, and their nurturing care for those they served.
Their commitment to the work of the Lord, to the Pentecostal City Mission Church, and to the body of Christ will long be remembered.
During this difficult time, we hold onto God’s Word,
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted” Matthew 5:4.
Please keep the Maxwell family and the entire international body in prayer as we mourn the passing of our General Overseer and his wife and let us seek God’s comfort and guidance.
