"God's Kingdom Is For Everyone!"

Several people today send messages of exclusivity, sexism, misogyny, racism, xenophobia, condescension, political affiliation, and wealth wrapped in religious language to achieve access to the Kingdom of God.

None of this is remotely true!

The teachings of Jesus inform us that the Kingdom of God includes EVERYONE! Jews and Gentiles alike can receive the Gospel. Jesus did not use a list, a purity test, or a value system as he taught the Word; His teachings were (and are) open to all.

As we review recent world history, we find that gross violations of human rights were done in the name of Jesus! God does not prefer one group of people over another.

As we spread the Gospel, we share it equally and without threat or forcing the Word on anyone. It is up to the individual to receive the Word. The Word is not a litmus test to receive assistance from religious or government entities.

Again, the Kingdom of God is for everyone! No politics, fees, or tests involved! We aspire to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, for as He loves us, we should love others, not exclude anyone!

"A Word From A Prophet Who Walked Among Us."

As the USA celebrates its 250th Anniversary, we take note of this country's promise while discussing the many flaws and mistakes made along the way.

One of the prominent flaws is the distortion of God's word to justify evil deeds committed in the name of democracy and American exceptionalism.

In Frederick Douglass' speech "What To The Slave Is the Fourth of July?", given on July 5, 1852, in Rochester, New York, Douglass combines real-life experiences and God's word to criticize and warn the country about the evils of enslaving Blacks, ending with a glimmer of salvation for America - should the country decide to travel that road.

Also, the Bible does not condone chattel slavery, no matter the number of so-called preachers and others claiming otherwise.

Today, we shall ask you to do something a little different. Please read the text of the speech at the link below and see if you recognize the Biblical references made by Douglass throughout his presentation. You will see that Frederick Douglass was truly a prophet who walked among us!

Douglass was a prophetic voice who spoke truth to power!

NPC NYC Sunday Service, June 14, 2026

Today's musical selections by Music Minister Tim are "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Blessed Assurance."

"Saved From A Lifetime Of Regret."

As we observe life around us in this moment, based upon the actions of many people, it becomes apparent that some are angry at and in a battle with God.

This anger spurs unbelief in God, which, if not resolved, may result in a lifetime of regret for not finding peace in God.

However, God is not, and has never been, in a battle with us. We know this because God sent Jesus to the cross to die for OUR sins. In return, God asks two things of us:

To have faith and believe in Him.

God grants us access to Him when we are humble enough to realize He does not seek perfection in us, that we are not afraid to fail because we know God is with us during every moment of our lives, present and future.

He is not impressed by financial status or titles; performance is not needed to stand in His grace. God's love is unconditional.

As we close today, here is food for thought for everyone.

Suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. Also, trouble is the fertilizer for faith.

Look no further than the 2026 NBA Champion New York Knicks as an example of the above statement.

Knicks fans suffered for 53 years between championships, with some good teams and some pretty bad ones. The fans' suffering transitioned to perseverance, to character, then to hope in the form of new players, starting with Jalen Brunson.

In Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Josh Hart of the Knicks missed a potential game-winning layup, but the Knicks won due to OG Anunoby tipping in a missed shot with 2.1 seconds left in the game.

When asked about the missed shot, how did Josh Hart respond to the reporter?

"OG Anunoby saved me from a lifetime of regret."

Spoken like a person immersed in his faith and belief in God, despite missing an important shot. OG Anunoby picked up Josh Hart, just as Jesus picks us up in times of vulnerability!

"Let The Feeling Flow."

Did you ever wonder at times why there were/are times in your life where it seems things don't work out? Where your flow of thoughts take a detour and vanish?

To remedy the situation, we must take corrective action. Clear our minds and don't allow negativity to interrupt what we know as our flow, for instance, the unencumbered process of a thought or feeling coming into you and traveling through your body without a diversion.

Believers of Jesus know He is the living water seeking to flow through us. We must remove any blockages, such as resentment, guilt, or shame. Allow the negative to exit while the Spirit flows through us so that someone else may receive His blessings!

We must constantly keep our systems clean so that the Spirit may continue to flow through us all!

"Glory Ain't What You Think It Might Be!"

When thinking about the definition of glory, what do some people come up with?

Some may think of glory as the possession of material wealth and expensive clothing that sets you apart from others. Others may believe that political power and self-promotion (on social media, etc.) are the ultimate forms of glorification. Some may even adhere to the prosperity gospel to attain their definition of glory.

Those people may want to think again.

Jesus provides our example of what true glory is. It is the opposite of the general definition. Jesus came from heaven, becoming a human being to be born into this world. Why? To eventually atone for OUR sins!

Jesus expressed His glory through His love for us, as He emptied Himself by going to the cross to die for us! Jesus actions are the complete opposite of today's definition of glory!

The cross reveals the depth of Jesus' love, reminding us of the promise of eternal life. Eternal life is not the duration of time after we die. It is the quality of our union with Jesus, beginning with the very minute we believe in Him!

Glory has nothing to do with earthly power; it is self-service and humility as taught by Jesus!
