We pause with heavy hearts to honor and remember one of the true legends of Chambers Memorial Baptist Church. After 33 years of unwavering dedication, service, and loyalty, our beloved brother in Christ, Deacon Melvin Calimese, has departed this life and entered eternal rest.

Deacon Calimese served faithfully as a soldier in the army of the Lord, and his impact on this church family will never be forgotten. We rejoice in the blessed assurance that God has taken his hand and reunited him with his cherished wife, Deacon Kim Calimese. Just as they once walked together in Central Park feeding the birds, they now walk together again in Heaven.

We will deeply miss his energetic presence, his spirit, his shout and his devotion to never fail to testify and tell everyone what the good Lord has done for him. His legacy will forever remain in our hearts.

May God bless and comfort the Calimese family during this season of grief over their father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Please know that your church family continues to stand with you and lift you in prayer during this difficult time.

Your church home will be open today from 5pm-7:30pm where you will have the opportunity to be blessed with ashes and make your public declaration to the world that you are a sinner saved by grace! The First Sunday Of The New Year & Bishop Delivered A Word Just For Us! He Came With A Word Straight From Heaven Reminding Us That God Sees Us Different From How We See Ourselves! While We See Ourselves With Faults, Damage, Baggage, Unqualified & Unworthy - He Sees Us As Chosen! Bishop Reaffirmed To Us All That Our Calling Wasn’t Accidental But The Lord Had Us In Mind When He Called Us, Knowing He Equipped Us For This Specific Assignment Just Like David In The Bible! It Wasn’t David’s Ability But His Availability! Bishop Challenged Us All To Move In Faith. To Not Define Ourselves By Our Limits & Weighing If We Are Strong Enough For The Task But To Be Encouraged Knowing If We Do The Work, We Will Be Strong! So Remember Church Family, Healing Can’t Come In, Power Can’t Come In, Strength Can’t Come In Unless We Open Up & Allow God To Come In!

We invite all of you to come out to the Joy Night services this week as we lead up to Bishops 33rd Pastoral Anniversary! Each night, service will began at 7pm! As we prepare for Saturdays festivities, make sure to come during the week and support our Bishop who has never failed to support us!
