Sermon 13: "The Mystery of the Sovereignty of God – God's Sovereignty, Power, Wisdom in Dispensations"
Romans 11:1-36

HAS GOD CAST AWAY HIS PEOPLE?

Romans 9-10 established two truths: God is sovereign in election, and Israel stumbled by seeking righteousness through works rather than faith.
But that raises a question: Is God done with Israel?
Paul answers: ABSOLUTELY NOT.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
God Didn't Forget Israel – A remnant according to grace remains
The Olive Tree – Natural branches (Israel) and wild branches (Gentiles)
A Warning to Gentiles – Do not boast against the branches. The root supports you, not you the root.
The Mystery Revealed – Partial blindness has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in

THE OLIVE TREE EXPLAINED:
The Root – The patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) and God's covenant promises
Natural Branches – Israel
Wild Branches – Gentiles
The Cultivated Olive Tree – The people of God
"Remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you."
THE MYSTERY OF DISPENSATIONS:
The Church Age is a parenthesis between Daniel's 69th and 70th week
Judicial blindness on Israel is partial and temporary
When the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, God will resume His program with Israel

KEY TRUTH:
The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable (v.29). God does not take back His promises. The covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are still in effect.
THE QUESTION:
Are you living in a way that others want what you have? Not envy for material things. Not jealousy for success. But hungry for peace, for joy, for victory over sin, for transparency and humility in struggle.
God can use your life to provoke others to jealousy.
Join us this Sunday as we conclude Romans 9-11 – The Sovereignty of God and the future of Israel.

GROWING UNDONE: A Study in Romans
Sermon 12: "The Sovereignty of God – The Righteousness of Faith vs. Works of Law"
Romans 10:1-21
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." — Romans 10:4
FROM SOVEREIGNTY TO RESPONSIBILITY
Romans 9 established that God is sovereign, righteous, just, and faithful.
But that raises a question: If God is sovereign, what is our responsibility? Did God reject Israel, or did Israel reject God?
Paul answers: Israel rejected God. But that doesn't mean we give up on them.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
Zeal Without Knowledge — Israel had passion, but they missed the target
A Warning for Us — Zeal without knowledge means obeying our whims. Knowledge without zeal means forsaking God's will.
Christ is the End of the Law — Telos means completion, culmination, goal
The Word is Near You — Paul's brilliant use of Deuteronomy 30
Confess and Believe — The simple yet profound call of the gospel
Beautiful Feet — How shall they hear without a preacher?
The Gospel for ALL — No distinction between Jew and Greek
Our Responsibility — Go, preach, speak clearly, remove stumbling blocks
THE CHAIN OF SALVATION:
How shall they call? They must believe
How shall they believe? They must hear
How shall they hear? Someone must preach
How shall they preach? They must be sent
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace!"
ONE-TWO PUNCH – WORD AND WITNESS:
Romans 10 — The Word proclaimed (faith comes by hearing)
Romans 11 — The Witness lived (jealousy comes by seeing)

"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

THE QUESTION:
Have you GONE? Have you PREACHED? Have you spoken in a way they HEARD? Is your own sin a stumbling block to them hearing?

Our responsibility ends there. It is up to them to BELIEVE and CALL.

GROWING UNDONE: A Study in Romans
Sermon 11: "The Sovereignty of God – Israel's Rejection and God's Sovereign Choice"
Romans 9:1-33
"What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not!" — Romans 9:14

WHAT WE SEE VS. WHAT HE SAYS
Romans 1-8 established a glorious truth: ALL MEN—Jew and Gentile—are under wrath, and ALL MEN can be made righteous by faith in Jesus Christ.
But that raises a question: Does it matter to be a Jew then?
If the Jew is saved the same way as the Gentile, has God abandoned His chosen people? Has the Church replaced Israel?
This has been the stumbling block for many through the ages.
What we SEE:
A people exiled, dispersed, rejected their Messiah
A new people—the Gentiles—become the family of God
What we might conclude:
The Church replaced Israel.
But God says something different.

IN THIS MESSAGE:
Paul's Personal Anguish: "Great sorrow and continual grief in my heart" for his countrymen
The Privileges of Israel: Adoption, glory, covenants, law, service, promises, fathers, and Christ Himself
God's Sovereign Choice: "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy"

KEY TRUTH:
"No one has a RIGHT to God's favor, mercy, or grace. All can ask, but not all are owed."
Whether you understand it or not, whether you surrender to it or not—God is RIGHTEOUS in His mercy!

THE THREE PERSPECTIVES OF ROMANS 9:
Paul's Perspective - Personal anguish for his people
God's Perspective - Sovereignty, justice, and prophecy
Man's Perspective - The stumbling stone of works-righteousness

BOTTOM LINE:
Has God's Word failed? Absolutely not.
God has not broken His Word.
God has not acted out of character.
God has not changed His mind.
"Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." — Romans 9:33

Join us this Sunday as we begin Romans 9-11—the Sovereignty of God and the future of Israel.

GROWING UNDONE: A Study in Romans
Sermon 10: "Sanctification: The Experience of Faith – From Suffering to Glory"
Romans 8:18-39
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." — Romans 8:18

FROM SUFFERING TO GLORY
Romans 8 began with "no condemnation" (v.1). It ends with "no separation" (v.39).
Between these two glorious bookends, Paul addresses the reality of suffering.
If we are children of God, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ—why do we suffer? Why does creation groan? Why do we wait?
Paul's answer: The present sufferings are not worth comparing to the coming glory.

IN THIS MESSAGE:
New Perspective: Suffering is temporary; glory is eternal
Creation Groans: Even the earth waits for redemption
Birth Pangs: Pain with purpose—something new is coming
The Spirit Helps: Interceding for us with wordless groans
All Things for Good: The Master Weaver at work
More Than Conquerors: Not just surviving—overwhelmingly victorious
Nothing Can Separate: The grand finale of Romans 8

THE UNSTOPPABLE LOVE:
Paul asks three questions—and answers them all:

Question
Answer
Who can be against us?
If God is for us, no one succeeds
Who can condemn?
Christ died, rose, and intercedes
Who can separate us from Christ's love?
NO ONE

THE VERDICT:
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
Not just barely winning. Super-conquerors. Overwhelmingly victorious.

We are more than conquerors through Christ
The struggle is real. Suffering is real. Groaning is real.
But the love of God is more real. The glory to come is more certain. The Spirit's help is more present.
And NOTHING can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

FROM WRETCHED TO NEWNESS
Romans 7 ended with a desperate cry: "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?"
Romans 8 answers with a glorious declaration: "There is therefore NOW no condemnation."
Romans 8 is the mountain peak of Scripture. It begins with "no condemnation" and ends with "no separation." It starts with the Spirit of life and concludes with the love of God from which nothing can separate us.

IN THIS MESSAGE:
Two Walks: Walking according to the Spirit vs. walking according to the flesh
Two Minds: Carnal mind (death) vs. spiritual mind (life and peace)
The Indwelling Spirit: The defining mark of every believer
Sons of God: Led by the Spirit, crying "Abba, Father"

KEY TRUTH:
It is incorrect to think there are two classes of believers—Spirit-filled and non-Spirit-filled. All believers have the Spirit. The question is: Are you yielded to the Spirit or yielded to the flesh? Humble or stubborn?

THE QUESTION:
How close to the line can you live? Does a child of God spend time figuring out how close to the world they can get and still be saved? Or do they spend time figuring out where they can get closer to God?
The goal: Pleasing God.

Join us this Sunday as we discover the life of no condemnation, the power of the indwelling Spirit, and the privilege of crying out "Abba, Father."

GROWING UNDONE: A Study in Romans
Sermon 8: "Sanctification: The Experience of Faith – Freed from the Law & The Battle Within"
Romans 7:1-25
"O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!" — Romans 7:24-25
FROM EVIDENCE TO EXPERIENCE
In Romans 6, Paul showed us the evidence of faith: we died to sin and are alive to God.
Now in Romans 7, he takes us into the experience of faith—the raw, honest, often messy reality of living in a fallen body while belonging to Christ.
Two Revelations in One Chapter:
1. FREED FROM THE LAW (v.1-13)
The law cannot save us. The law cannot sanctify us. But the law is not the enemy—sin is. The law is like a mirror: it shows you your dirty face, but it cannot wash it. It drives us to Christ.
2. THE BATTLE WITHIN (v.14-25)
Even as believers, we experience an ongoing war between the flesh and the Spirit. Paul describes the carnal Christian—the one trying to live by the law in his own strength—and his cry of desperation becomes our own.
IN THIS MESSAGE:
Married to Another: Dead to the law, united to Christ
Bearing Fruit: The purpose of our new union
The Mirror of the Law: Revealing sin, not removing it
"O Wretched Man That I Am!" The cry of coming to the end of yourself
The Deliverer: Not "try harder"—Jesus Christ our Lord
THE WAR WITHIN:

What I WantWhat I DoWhat I will to doI do not practiceWhat I hateThat I do
"I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind."
Over 30 times Paul says "I" in this passage. Self-focus is the mark of the carnal man. The answer is not more self-effort—it's looking away to Christ.
THE JOURNEY OF ROMANS:

ChapterRealityRomans 6We died to sinRomans 7We struggle with sinRomans 8We are more than conquerors through Christ
The struggle is real. But the Deliverer is greater.
THE QUESTION:
Are you trying to live the Christian life by the law—striving, failing, striving again?
Or are you depending on the Spirit—walking in newness, serving in freedom, crying out to your Deliverer?
"Faith makes all things possible. Grace makes all things easy."
Join us this Sunday as we discover the honest struggle and the glorious deliverance found in Romans 7.

EASTER 2026:
What does Easter mean to you?
Is it a story you've heard so many times it no longer moves you? Or is it the moment when your failure met His grace—and everything changed?
In this Easter message, we step into one of the most powerful scenes in all of Scripture. A courtyard. A rooster crowing. And a moment when Jesus turned and looked at Peter.
Peter had sworn he would die for Jesus. Hours later, he couldn't even admit he knew Him.
Sound familiar? We've all declared our love for Christ—and then denied Him with our actions. We've all sworn we would never fall away—and then scattered when the testing came.
But Easter is not the story of our failure. It is the story of His restoration.
In This Message:
The Look – What happened when Jesus and Peter locked eyes across that crowded courtyard
What Flooded Peter's Mind – The memories that came rushing back: the call, the confession, walking on water, and the rebuke that stung
The Warning Peter Refused – "Satan has asked to sift you... but I have prayed for you"
The Grief of Failure – When we discover we aren't who we thought we were
The Cross – Where your failure meets His grace
The Silence – Three days of waiting, three days of shame
The Restoration – Breakfast on the beach, three questions for three denials, and a second chance
The Call – "Stop comparing yourself to others. You follow Me."
Key Scriptures:
Luke 22:31-34, 54-62 • Luke 23:32-46 • John 20:1-10 • John 21:15-22
The Bottom Line:
Jesus doesn't disqualify you because of your failure. He declares your purpose through your failure.
The point of the cross is to die to sin. The point of the resurrection is to live to God.
Peter couldn't fully serve until he was humbled, broken, and remade through grace. And neither can you.
