This powerful event featured a keynote address from Baba Professor James Small, a revered scholar, historian, and activist dedicated to the empowerment and liberation of African-descended people worldwide.
This special evening brought together faith, history, and culture—highlighting the impact of the Black Liberation Church in its mission to foster spiritual growth, social justice, and community empowerment. Baba Prof. James Small shared profound wisdom on the enduring legacy of Black liberation, African spirituality, and the continuous struggle for justice.

The Black Liberation Church Celebrates 2nd Anniversary & Black History Month.
�Honoring Queen Mother Dr. Rosalind Jeffries, Baba Prof. James Small, and the Late Honorable Hal Jackson

New York, NY — The Black Liberation Church (BLC) is proud to announce its 2nd Anniversary & Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of the Cross at Riverside Church in New York City. This landmark event will honor three extraordinary individuals whose tireless contributions have profoundly impacted the African American community and beyond: Queen Mother Dr. Rosalind Jeffries, Baba Prof. James Small, and the late Honorable Hal Jackson, the first Black inductee into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1990.

This celebratory gathering, which marks the last Friday of Black History Month, is an opportunity for the BLC family to unite in unity, faith, and reflection on the rich heritage and legacy that continue to inspire and shape the future of our community. During the event, Dr. Jeffries, Prof. Small, and the legacy of Hal Jackson will be recognized for their lifelong dedication to social justice, education, media advocacy, and the empowerment of African-descended people worldwide.

The evening will also feature a live jazz vespers performance by Terri Davis and the Band, which will bring together the spiritual and cultural power of music as part of the celebration.
