A new article about a national survey of Catholic young adults (18-35). 84% say that the benefit of their small groups is "community and friendship." 51% say their small groups help with learning and developing skills (75% in mostly Hispanic groups).

What does this say? It shows that small faith communities are EFFECTIVE!

Important new article on SCCs: Kevin Ahern, “Young people are leading a new approach to campus ministry,” U.S. Catholic, September, 2021.

We can use the article to jumpstart a new promotion of our Orbis Book "God’s Quad: Small Faith Communities on Campus and Beyond." Bill Vos will be pleased about the references to campus ministry at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.

Kevin insightfully describes the challenges to campus ministry with practical examples. I liked in particular: the explanation of the Small Faith Communities (SFCs) Model of Church; how in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, student faith groups have demonstrated a dynamic sense of resiliency; and Pope Francis’s call for synodal models in youth and young adult ministry (so relevant as the world wide Synodal Process begins in October, 2021).

Co-Editor of God's Quad, Christopher Derige Malano and his fellow Paulists InFormation invite you to a Lenten Mission geared toward young adults.

Entitled, "One Shared: World, Faith, & Kingdom: A Paulist Mission for Young Adults," it will be a special virtual mission hosted by the seminarians of the Paulist Fathers on , March 28th, 7-10 PM Eastern (4-7 PM Pacific).

Through a series of short talks, reflection and communal prayer, the night will examine shared experience of living in a broken world, of finding in and through relationships with one another in a challenging time, and finding the strength to, together, participate in building the Kingdom of God here and now.
