Many of us are chasing happiness, success, and relationships, believing these things will finally make us free. But Jesus tells us in John 8:32 that true freedom comes from knowing the truth of His Word -- not from a family name, a church membership, or the opinions of others.

The enemy's native language is lies. You will never change. Nobody loves you. Your story is over. But for every lie, God's Word has an answer. Shame says you are what you did. Truth says you are a new creation in Christ. Fear says something bad will always happen. Truth says God has not given you a spirit of fear.

Jesus did not die to improve your life. He died to transform it. If you have been living with hidden chains, today is the day to shake them off. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Many people who look free are actually living in chains -- chains of addiction, unforgiveness, fear, shame, and guilt. In John 8:31-59, Jesus confronts a crowd confident in their family name and heritage, yet blind to their own bo***ge. His message was clear: a name cannot save you. Only the truth can set you free.

Jesus exposes the lies the enemy uses to keep us bound -- "you'll never change," "you're too far gone," "nobody really loves you." But for every lie, God's word has an answer. Shame says you are what you did. Truth says you are a new creation. The enemy says your story is over. Truth says He who began a good work in you will complete it.

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. His freedom is complete, permanent, and real. Today is the day to walk out of your prison and into your promise.

We’re so excited to host you in a simple daily practice: read the Word, then encourage each other. In the Bethel Baptist NSB Bible Reading Group on FB, every day at 5am we drop the reading for the day along with a prompt for accountability. We’re reading through Psalms as one body of believers. All denominations and church backgrounds are welcome.

God did it. Not your plan, not your hustle, not your connections -- God did it. And the question worth sitting with this week is: why?

In John 9, a man born blind had no credentials, no backstory of righteousness, no explanation for his condition. But Jesus spat on the ground, made clay, and told him to go wash. He went. He washed. He came back seeing. When people asked how, he simply said, "A man called Jesus." He did not have all the answers -- just a testimony.

We were not created to chase scoreboards, store up things we cannot take with us, or walk in the shadow of negativity. We were created to reflect the glory of God. When you delight yourself in Him, as Psalm 37:4 reminds us, He places His desires in you -- and those desires last.
