The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)

Doing what we think is just enough is never enough for our Master. The last of the 3 slaves thought he would skate by by doing what would be considered bare minimum.

Each and every born again believer has been given their own gifts, talents, and abilities to put effort and sacrifice in to grow what’s been given for Him.

The Lord is expecting a return of you, an increase of His deposit.

The 3rd slaves lack of effort was due to his skewed perspective of His Master’s heart and character, “I knew you to be a hard man”.

The Master would have been without reason to think He would reap where He didn’t sow, but He is expecting from those who are His.

God wants us to know Him well. To be both faithful and sensible slaves- full of faith, and full of sense, to understand Him and His will for this life.

Even if we only have 1 thing to multiply for Him it will be enough.

So don’t let misunderstanding His heart cause you to be lax, put your feet up, think you can skate by with minimum effort and sacrifice for Him.

Do you have your own special gifting to share, talents to contribute, and abilities for you to build His kingdom, yes you do!

Even if we don’t understand it all keep pushing, keep fighting the good fight of faith, share the gospel, make disciples and don’t give in.

I can't believe that in just a couple of short weeks I'll be headed to Kenya! We will be having a huge youth conference, leadership conference, teaching and preaching the Word of God in Eldoret, as well as the surrounding areas. I'm also headed up to ATL for ATL Alive on the 13th-15th to partner with an amazing team to see mass revival right here in our own backyard!

Missions Tuesday

"From Him comes the cornerstone" (Zechariah 10.4).

Missions and ministry are not built on personalities, as much as we strive to make it so. It is Jesus who gives us the appetite, the capacity, and the weapons for warfare. This deep passion and desire for spiritual battle, to war for the souls of people is a divinely granted emotion.
We are wanted to be found among the ranks and in the fight for souls, no matter how well we are known, followers we have, or how polished or eloquent we think we are.

Our cutting edge or catchy personality doesn't amount to a "hill of beans" (as my grandma would say) when it comes to how God wants to break us of pride and ego, humble us, and build us up in the faith.

He wants to take hold of us inwardly, arrest us in that place, then harness us as a subdued and surrendered one poised and set out to fulfill His will.

Matthew 16.24, "Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me."

Jesus said that we cannot be His disciples unless we deny the self, pick up our cross and follow Him. But we can't follow Him to Golgotha if we are running away from the cross.

The question isn't will I go to that place, the question is will you help me get there? The insertion and death Death of fire filled missionaries into dangerous places is not something that is to be avoided at all costs, it is something that must be accomplished.
God did not seek to put His Son in a safe environment, where He can share the gospel to unreached people then pack up and go home. A subtle emotional error has creeps into the thinking of missions supporters, the church, and sending agencies: The error that safety is the highest goal, meanwhile God sent Jesus to die.

We hear it all the time, "Well the water isn't safe", "It's so far", or "What will you eat, and where will you sleep?" But what if we weren't concerned about our safety or any of that? If we pray and sing to be more like Jesus then we should follow ALL of His footsteps too.

Romans 10.14, "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?"
If mission in these last days falters it will not be because missionaries are unwilling to die; it will be because senders are unwilling to send.

Are we willing to see as He sees and synchronize with Him and His heart towards the lost, or is this just a big game, looking for rewards for sending people on glorified field trips and vacations?

Missions Monday:

John 6.12-13: "When they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost. So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.”

Most agree that 15-20K people were fed from 5 loaves of barely bread. How many loaves do you think that was to feed that many people? After this multiplication, there was a division, something to be noted: The left over thousands of loaves, after being eaten on were broken down into fragments.

Essentially thousands ate off of the 5 loaves- but it was the broken that turned into 12 baskets. There was a place for the loaves, but they went home with what was in pieces. What value and further purpose it had!

The Lord is showing us that there is a significant place for broken things to be of great value and blessing for the kingdom of God.

Never disqualify yourself- God sees you of great value. Your'e just getting started ❤️.

Jesus often told others not to spread the news about their healing, because He knew that fame (and the thirst for it) hinders purpose.

Even Jesus Christ didn’t come to be popular- He came to die, and so we should die too.

The less we seek for ourselves in this life is the more we will have in the next. The more we seek for ourselves in this life is the less we will have in the next.

What profit is it for a man….. your treasure and heart share the same location. Doing His will requires an expensive death.

Revelation can be quite dangerous. Count the cost.
