As the little ghosts and goblins head out this Halloween, remember to stick with your group, carry a flashlight, watch for traffic, and only visit well-lit homes welcoming trick-or-treaters.

"Riots in the streets, floods in the desert, war in the world, and we are still not running away. In fact, we are walking toward the struggle, because that is what spiritual medics do. We go toward the aftermath of disaster. We bind the wounds, rescue the survivors, restore the balance of nature as best we can. We are not miracle workers, though miracles can happen around us. We are ordinary people with an extraordinary job. We are practioners of hope, prayers with hands, compassion engaged where we are needed most. Riots can end, floods recede, war turn to peace. Until then, we have a job to do."
