The exact date of the organization of Centre Church cannot be determined. There are records that refer to a church in the area in the 1760’s and 1770’s, with the first pastor being supplied in 1781. It is believed that the name “Centre” was chosen because the location was halfway between the existing churches of Round Hill In Cross Roads, PA and Bethel in Madonna, MD. After outgrowing three previo

us structures, the current building was constructed in 1888 at a total cost of $14,881.45. To serve a growing congregation the Education Building was constructed in 1957 to accommodate Sunday School classroom and offices on the upper floor, and a kitchen and large recreational/meeting room in the basement. For over 220 years, the congregation of Centre has worked to serve the people of neighboring communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland, while investing in missions around the globe. If you are looking for a church home or just want a place to visit, you are invited to come and be a part of the welcoming family of Centre Presbyterian Church in New Park PA, about a mile north of the MD border. We meet in person in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 11:00am or online via Zoom.

Reminder that our Worship Service time changes to summer hours beginning this Sunday. We will begin at 10:00am instead of 11:00. Sunday school takes a break for the summer. As temperatures begin to warm up outside, this allows us to shift the service time up an hour and avoid the hotter times of the day, since the building is not air conditioned

Sunday is also a special time in which we celebrate the 30th Ordination Anniversary of our Pastor, Dr. Easter Smart and Centre son, Rev Dr Michael Wilson. Michael will be providing the message during the service as well. We will also be recognizing the recent high school and college graduates. So make your plans to join us Sunday morning at 10:00am!

It's almost Vacation Bible School Time at Centre!!!
Mark your calendar for June 15-19th. Dinner will be served beginning at 5pm each night and the program will conclude by 8pm. The theme for this year is: Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure through Psalm 23! Emerald Crossing focuses on bringing hope to an anxious generation, as kids learn about the life of David while answering the question, "Is there a God who cares?"

In a world filled with worry, chaos, and confusion, it is essential for kids to know there is a God who cares for them. At Emerald Crossing VBS, kids will journey through Ireland's green, lush landscapes while exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23. Kids will explore the life of the shepherd-king David and will learn how to cross from anxiety to peace, from fear to faith, and from uncertainty to a firm foundation in God's Word through a relationship with the Good Shepherd. Get your VBS passport ready and join the adventure through the rolling, sheep-covered hills of Ireland! The students will expand on what they’ve discovered by making their own art projects at the Craft Station, singing new songs, exploring the wonders of God’s creation at the Science Station, playing games at the Recreation Station, and enjoying tasty treats at the Snack Station. Some of the activities will be held around our own firepit in the grove by the manse.

It was a lovely Pentecost service today with moments for honoring the birth of the church, singing with Psalm 96, celebrating the special ways that music reaches us and helps to spread the gospel, our veterans and the remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, and the installation of a fantastic returning Deacon. One of the great highlights, however, was honoring two long time Centre Choir members. Enjoy some pics from this moment today ...
