Sunday Recap at Pine Grove Church

What a wonderful message we heard today from our guest speaker, Jacob Collins, titled “Strong Roof and a Fire Extinguisher.” 🔥

Jacob shared from Luke 15:11–24 and Luke 14:16–24, reminding us of how easily we can come up with excuses. We all have reasons why we can’t do something, and sometimes we even give ourselves reasons why we can’t make it to church.

But the truth is, there is always an invitation waiting for us. No matter what our excuse may be, we are welcome at church. And if you’ve ever heard someone say, “If I went to church, the roof would cave in or the church would catch on fire,” don’t worry—we have a strong roof and a fire extinguisher ready!

More importantly, Jacob reminded us that just as our earthly fathers may have waited for us to come to them when we were children, our Heavenly Father is waiting for us to call on Him. No matter the choices we’ve made, no matter what we have done, and no matter what we may do in the future, God is ready to welcome us with open arms. He paid the price for us so that we don’t have to carry that burden ourselves.

Jacob challenged each of us to invite someone to church, regardless of what excuse they may have. They may not accept the invitation, but making the effort to reach out and invite them is what matters.

Don’t let an excuse stand between you and God. And don’t be afraid to extend the invitation to someone else.

We are thankful for the message Jacob brought to Pine Grove today and for the reminder that there is always room at God’s table.

What a meaningful Sunday at Pine Grove Church as we welcomed guest speaker Brad Allison, who shared a powerful message titled “When Jesus Knocks.” Brad’s message was centered around Revelation 3:14–22, 7–13, and 8–11, reminding us of the importance of keeping Christ at the center of our lives.
Brad challenged us not to be “lukewarm” Christians—wavering on the fence or simply going through the motions. Just as we prefer our morning coffee piping hot rather than lukewarm, Jesus desires Christians who are on fire for Him, committed to following Him and focused on Christ.
We were reminded that when we don't allow Jesus to take the driver's seat, we can miss out on the blessings He has for us. No matter the size of our church, God can use us to make an impact. We can show Jesus through the things we say, the things we do, how we love our neighbors, and how we share His Word with others.
Life will bring difficulties, and none of us will walk through it without facing some kind of hardship. Brad reminded us that Jesus tells us we may suffer for our faith, but when we stand firm in the fire, there is a reward waiting for us—a life that continues on with Him.
Most importantly, we need to be ready when Jesus calls us into action. When He knocks, will we open the door? Will we be willing to share His Word, turn away from temptation, and allow Him to lead our lives?
Let's not be lukewarm. Let's be on fire for Christ, ready to answer when He knocks!
Thank you, Brad Allison, for bringing us this encouraging reminder and challenging us to keep our hearts and lives focused on Jesus.

Join us this Sunday at Pine Grove Church as we welcome guest speaker, Mark Grisetti!

Mark will be sharing his message, “A Journey of Recovery with Jesus Christ.”

His message will draw from several powerful passages of Scripture:
Proverbs 23:29-35
Luke 8:4-8
Romans 8:1-4
Matthew 11:28-30
Matthew 22:36-40

Through these Scriptures, we’ll be reminded that Jesus meets us wherever we are, offers freedom and restoration, gives us rest when we are weary, and calls us to love God and one another.

Come join us for a meaningful morning of worship, fellowship, and God’s Word as Mark shares about the journey of recovery with Jesus Christ.

"They all ate and were satisfied..." — Matthew 14:20

This past Sunday, we were blessed to welcome Dennis Dibert as our guest speaker. Dennis serves as a chaplain at the Bedford County Jail and shared about his ministry, his involvement throughout our community, and the many opportunities God has given him to minister to others.

Dennis spoke about the men's fellowship at In One Accord Ministries, sharing how meaningful conversations, guided by the Holy Spirit, often lead to important questions and life-changing answers. He reminded us that spiritual growth happens when we remain open to learning and allow God to work in our hearts.

We were also encouraged by Jake Harris, who shared about the men's group and the importance of having a place where men can find guidance, encouragement, accountability, and support through every season of life.

One of the key challenges Dennis left with us was this: Are we simply checking the "church" box each week, or do we truly have a desire to grow and learn more about Christ? He reminded us that a teachable person is marked by humility and a genuine desire to keep learning. As we grow in our faith, we should also be looking for opportunities to pour into others by sharing what God has taught us.

Our prayer is that each of us would take this message to heart and be encouraged to not only hear God's Word, but to live it out every day.

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up..." – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

We are thankful to Dennis and Jake for sharing with us and pray God continues to bless their ministry and the lives they impact each day.
