This past Sunday, we were blessed to celebrate Father's Day together and welcome Jacob Collins as our guest speaker.

Jacob's message was based on Joshua 24:15:

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

As fathers are often viewed as leaders of the home, Jacob challenged us to consider a few important questions: Are you leading your family toward God? What does your family see when they look at you? Do they see Christ shining through your life?

He reminded us that children are always watching and learning from the examples set before them. Little ones quickly pick up on our habits, priorities, attitudes, and actions. Children naturally look to their parents for guidance and approval, making it all the more important that we intentionally invest our time and attention in them.

One thought-provoking challenge was not allowing our phones and other distractions to take precedence over the people God has entrusted to us. Jacob asked us to consider: Aren't you glad God isn't distracted when you call on Him? Our Heavenly Father is always listening, always present, and always available.

We were also reminded of the tremendous impact a father's prayers can have in the life of a child. The legacy of faith we leave behind is far more valuable than any earthly possession. In fact, Jacob encouraged us to think about this question: Would you give up your son or daughter for a million dollars? Yet God willingly gave His only Son to suffer and die so that we could have eternal life. What incredible love!

The message concluded with a powerful reminder that one of the greatest gifts parents can leave their children is a foundation of faith and a Christ-centered example to follow.

We are also excited to share that this service marked our first live stream at Pine Grove Church! We hope to continue offering live streams for many of our services so that those who are unable to travel, are homebound, or simply unable to attend on a given Sunday can still worship with us and stay connected to our church family.

This Sunday at Pine Grove Church, we were blessed to have guest speaker Jim Black share a message from Matthew 9:35 - 10:8 titled, "Seeing the World Through the Eyes of Jesus."
Jim began by sharing about a recent trip to Gatlinburg, where he learned about a forest made up of thousands of trees that all share the same root system. Although it appears to be many trees, scientists consider it one organism because of its connected roots. What a powerful picture of the family of God - many individuals, yet united through Christ.
As we looked at Matthew chapter 9, we were reminded of Jesus calling Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him. While others saw a traitor and an outcast, Jesus saw what Matthew could become through his grace. In the same way, Jesus sees beyond our past and sees who we can be when we follow Him.
We were challenged to consider the idea of "unintentional blindness" -the tendency to miss what we're not focus on. Spiritually, this can happen when life becomes filled with schedules, errands, and distractions. Instead of becoming consumed by the darkness of our culture, we are called to see people through the eyes of Jesus.
When we encounter a need, our first response should be prayer. As we seek God, He will often reveal whether He is calling us to be part of the solution. How willing are we to invest time in prayer to discover what God wants us to do?
The message reminded us that our faith was never meant to stay within the walls of the church. The Gospel is the announcement that God's Kingdom has come near-that God is present, active, and involved in our lives. In a world that desperately needs hope, people need to hear the truth of God's Word now more than ever.
Thank you, Jim Black, for sharing this encouraging challenge to view the world through the eyes of Jesus and to live out our faith beyond the church walls.

What a wonderful service we shared this Sunday at Pine Grove Church! 🙏
We were blessed to welcome guest speaker Brad Allison, who brought an encouraging message from Gospel of Luke Chapter 15.
Brad shared a story about lost dogs and the joy they experienced when they were reunited with their owners. He used that illustration to remind us of God's heart for those who have wandered away. Just as a shepherd watches over his sheep, God gives us free will but is always guiding, pursuing, and calling us back to Him.
The message challenged us to consider our own lives. How many times have we gone astray before God drew us back? How many times did Jesus pull on our heartstrings before we accepted Him as Lord and Savior? Like the lost child returning home, we were welcomed back with open arms by a loving Father.
Through passages such as Gospel of John 3:16, we were reminded that God desires no one to be lost. He loves the lost child no less than those who have faithfully followed Him, and Heaven rejoices when even one person returns to the Lord.
Perhaps the message was meant for someone sitting in the pews. Perhaps it brought to mind a friend, family member, or loved one you've been praying for. Brad encouraged us not to give up on them. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep sharing the hope of Christ. God is still pursuing the lost, and His desire is that all would come home.
Thank you, Brad, for reminding us of God's relentless love and His heart for those who are still searching.

This past Sunday at Pine Grove Church we heard the testimony of guest speaker BJ Loomis.
His story was raw and real—marked by addiction, brokenness, jail time, and moments where he even reached the point of wanting to end his life. But even in his lowest moments, God didn’t let go of him.
From sitting in our own church parking lot in addiction, to sitting in a jail service where he realized God would never leave or desert him—his life is a testimony of grace, mercy, and transformation. Today, his wife and children are walking with him in church and worship together as a family.
His message challenged us deeply: are we “couch Christians,” only believing but not living it out? Or are we active in our faith—walking in obedience, serving with joy, and letting our lives reflect Christ every day?
We are not saved by works, but true faith always produces action. As Matthew 5:16 reminds us, our light is meant to shine so others see God through us.
May we not just hear the Word, but live it—daily, faithfully, and boldly.

What a wonderful evening representing Pine Grove Church at the Fishertown Memorial Day Parade!

We were thankful for the opportunity to partner with Bowser Dental on their fun “Keeping Cavities Extinct” dinosaur float and connect with so many people in our community. Along the parade route, we handed out Pine Grove Church pens along with invitation cards sharing our church address and service time — Sundays at 9:45 AM. We loved being able to spread encouragement, smiles, and an invitation to worship with us!

On Memorial Day, we also pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the words found in:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13

Thank you again to Bowser Dental for allowing us to be part of such a creative and community-focused float. We are blessed to live in a community that comes together in such meaningful ways.

We were blessed to welcome guest speaker Tim Mock this Memorial Day Weekend as he shared an encouraging and challenging message about purpose, identity, and the calling God has placed on each of our lives.
Tim reminded us that every person has a purpose, and God has already given us the power and authority to fulfill it. He encouraged us to look inward to find “the church,” reminding us that the church is not simply the building we gather in each week—it is the people who make up the body of Christ.
Using the story from Book of Genesis of Jacob and Esau, Tim spoke about how Esau traded his birthright for a bowl of soup, challenging us with the question: What have we traded our God-given birthright for?
He also reminded us that things are not always as they seem, and that God has called and equipped His people to go out and make disciples. The time to step into that calling is now.
As we gathered on Memorial Day weekend, we also took time to recognize and honor the veterans in attendance for their service and sacrifice. We are deeply thankful for those who have served our country and the freedoms we are blessed with every day.
Thank you, Tim, for sharing a message that challenged us to reflect, grow, and walk boldly in the purpose God has given us.
