Twice Blessed Thrift Boutique

Twice Blessed Thrift Boutique 2026 Scholarship
The Twice Blessed Thrift Boutique of the Reformed Church of New Paltz will award scholarships in 2026 to recognize individuals who have made a positive impact on their church, school, community, or workplace.

Applicants must have demonstrated substantial academic achievement, or commensurate experience, that indicates ability to succeed in a post- secondary program. There will be two scholarships in the amount of $2,000 for those pursuing a career in education. Those scholarships are in memory of Patricia King and Rosemarie McBride. The other scholarships will be in the amount of $1,000.

Applications are available at the church office or on the church website (https://bit.ly/TwiceBlessedScholarship2026) and must be completed and submitted to the church office by noon Monday, June 22, 2026.

Applications will be reviewed by the Twice Blessed Scholarship Committee of the Reformed Church of New Paltz.

Winners will be announced on June 29, 2026.

Caring for Creation (C4C)

"Peace and Carrots Community Garden and Composter"

The Peace and Carrots Community Garden continues to expand. A work party is scheduled every Sunday from 11:00-1:00.

Last Sunday we delivered a sampler of fresh herbs to the Free Fresh Food Giveaway at the Quaker House on Manheim. There was chives, parsley, garlic grass, cilantro, and lettuce.

We are continuing to expand the beds by planting Tomatoes, Peppers, Zucchini, Rosemary, and Basil into "permaculture guilds". This system selects a variety of plants that work together to use the space and not deplete the soil. It's a classic permaculture design - and if you ask meShabazz, he will love to talk with you about this gardening system.

This Sunday, June 7th, we will add eggplant and will mulch all of the exiting garden. And we'll harvest Swiss Chard for the Free Fresh Food Giveaway. Volunteers are welcome to come by and can call Greenway at 845-656-6071 or email at [email protected].

We're still looking for 20 more households to add their food waste to the composter, and 10 more volunteers to work at the garden.

Don't feel like you have to do it alone.

Grab a committee that you're on - or your parent, sibling, friend, ANYONE - and host together.

It doesn't have to be elaborate - some fruit, cheese, crackers, and you're done!

The choir extends a huge thank you to Susie Gilgert for being our extraordinary Choir Director for 2025-2026.

We are so grateful to Susie for bringing music back to the church!
Under her leadership, we learned so much. She is exactly what this church and choir needed.

We miss her already, but we know that God has incredible plans for her.
