The General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops announced the launch of a new website for the upcoming synod on youth, and encouraged young people to take the survey available there.

It looks like enough people are interested for us to have a GREAT Bible Study! Based on your survey responses, I have reserved the South Room of the Parish Center for 6:30PM every Wednesday night in Lent. We will start on March 8 and continue through April 12. Please email [email protected] if you plan to attend so I can send you the materials ahead of time. I look forward to seeing all of you as we try to get the most out of Lent!

As we enjoy the festivities, we should also look forward to Lent and begin to think about how we will prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ at Easter. I've reached out to Ozanam Inn, a local homeless shelter and soup kitchen part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (http://www.ozanaminn.org/), about opportunities for volunteer service as a number of people have asked about community service work in particular. While they could not offer any kind of regular monthly time slot, they did offer the following individual days for group openings, each day from 1:30PM-3:00PM for lunch meal service

July 3rd, 4th of July weekend
Aug 14th,
Sept 4th, Labor day weekend
Oct 2nd,

Now I have not committed to a specific day yet because I wanted to be sure that we'd have a sizeable enough group committed to attend, ideally around 10-15 people, so for any and all interested please respond to either this post or shoot an email to [email protected] with the date(s) that would work best for you.
