💙 Did You Know? In 1976, Archbishop Philip M. Hannan founded the Catholic Community Foundation to help donors support the parishes, schools, ministries, and causes closest to their hearts, while honoring their charitable intentions.

Fifty years later, that mission continues to make a meaningful difference. In the past year alone, nearly $16 million was distributed throughout our community thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we’re also looking forward to gathering at our 2026 Annual Dinner on October 1st as we honor the priests of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans with the Saint John Paul II Award.

Here’s to 50 years of generosity, faith, and building a legacy that will strengthen our Catholic community for generations to come. 💙

✨ A Year to Honor Our Priests ✨

Since 1996, the Saint John Paul II Award has honored Catholics whose service and generosity have made a lasting impact on the ministries of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Usually, the award recognizes a layperson, married couple, or permanent deacon.

This year is different. 💙

As the Catholic Community Foundation celebrates its 50th anniversary, we are honored to recognize the priests who dedicate their lives to caring for our spiritual family.

They celebrate Mass, hear confessions, baptize our children, witness marriages, anoint the sick, comfort the grieving, serve their parish communities, and answer the call whenever they are needed.

This year, the Saint John Paul II Award is our way of saying "thank you" to every priest who has poured himself out in service to the local Church. We are grateful beyond words.

Join us as we honor the priests of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans at the CCF Annual Dinner.

✨ Meet the Team at the Catholic Community Foundation! ✨

Meet Joe, our Director of Philanthropy & Engagement! With more than 30 years of experience in banking and investments, Joe now brings his passion for stewardship to the CCF, helping others embrace the truth that everything is a gift and discover the joy of generosity. 💙

A native New Orleanian and UNO finance graduate, Joe previously served as Director of Stewardship at his parish in Greenville, SC. He’s also the author of It’s Not Your Money, where he shares reflections and resources on stewardship.

Joe is grateful to be back in New Orleans with his wife, Claire, their five children, three children-in-law, and five grandchildren, and, of course, enjoying a good roast beef po-boy and Hansen snowball! 🍧🥪

At the Catholic Community Foundation, we’re grateful to be part of the stories that help strengthen our Catholic community and carry its mission forward.

Through the Preacher Man Fund, Linda and Richard Smith are helping support the creation of a digital guestbook for St. Louis Cathedral, bringing state-of-the-art technology to a treasured New Orleans landmark and helping expand its network of benefactors.
