The project was established by St. John #5 Faith Church and its purpose is to engage Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) in consistent and productive activities that focus on HIV/AIDS and Housing advocacy. We are looking for committed FBOs, regardless of religion/worship, race/ethnicity, gender, etc. that are willing and ready to participate in the Network to provide these greatly needed services thr
oughout the Metro New Orleans Region. The people and communities of Louisiana have requested that the Faith Based Community be a part of the fight against HIV/AIDS and address the growing need of affordable housing in Louisiana, especially the Metro New Orleans Region. With such grand needs, it is most productive to engage the collaborative efforts of other FBOs to reach the masses. The Faith In Action Network (FIAN) is determined to get the word out about HIV/AIDS, productive preventive practices and reducing stigmas as well as address the housing needs of community members, but we need the help of other FBOs to make this successful! Activities that will be provided by FIAN will include: Street and Community Outreach, dissemination of HIV/STD materials, HIV/Housing seminars/workshops, media development, cultural sensitivity training and much more!
