Memorial Weekend is here. Let us remember that the reason for our holiday is because of those that gave their lives so that we can be free. On Sunday, we at Neeley's Chapel will remember in song and word. LT Colonel Jeff Mitchell will be with us. As a Chaplain in the US Army, he has personally known soldiers killed in action and has conducted many of their funerals. He will share from his heart what we all need to remember. Invite a friend and come with a grateful heart. Pastor Steve.

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: God's creation! It reminds me of Jesus telling His
disciples that the fields are white, signifying that it is harvest time. Imagine the crowds surrounding the Lord and His disciples with the background of blue skies and white fields. There He is struck by the "heavenly" skyline and the weary people who long for something more. What they long for they do not know, but He and the disciples know. Therefore, Jesus calls the disciples and us to not wait around, but work and pray for the souls of men and women, boys and girls. So, what field are you working in? Blessings. Pastor Steve

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: As we think on Easter, we should also think on the days leading up to that Resurrection morning. As we do, let me suggest to you four scripture readings for each of those four days. First: Maundy Thursday remembers the Lord's Supper in the upper room, Luke 22:7-23. Second is Good Friday, the day of suffering and death for Jesus on the cross, Luke 23:18-50. Third: Silent Saturday when Jesus was in the tomb, Luke 23:50-56. Fourth: Easter Sunday, the day of Resurrection, Luke 24. Let's read, meditate, and pray as we approach this Easter Sunday! Blessings, Pastor Steve

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: Last Sunday the rich man in our study put his trust in what he had and who he was. This self sufficiency ended with him still seeking self satisfaction in hell ... which never came. Prayer at its core is not designed to change God but to change us. Thus, in prayer we are to bend our self seeking desires into a commitment. A commitment to find fulfillment in who Jesus is and what He has done. Then, peace and joy will be the result of our prayers. Blessings. Pastor Steve.

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: Last Sunday we looked at King David. He was the greatest king of Israel and had a "heart for God," but then fell into great sin. He committed sexual sin and murdered his lover's husband! Yet in Psalm 51 he confesses his sin, is restored, and then moves on to be used of God again. All this tells me that anyone is capable of great sin. But also anyone, no matter how far he or she has strayed, can come back into fellowship with God through Christ Jesus. Everyone can come back home, even with muddy Sunday shoes! Blessings, Pastor Steve.

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: Last Sunday we unpacked the story of Hannah who had a broken heart. But in her brokenness she poured out her burden to the Lord. Then she left it there, trusting in the goodness and faithfulness of God. She sings a new song in I Samuel 2, declaring the greatness of her God in all of life's troubles. A life of faith is just that, faith in God's person and plan ... be it darkness or daylight in your soul. Let's KEEP THE FAITH and shine light into our broken world. Blessings. Pastor Steve

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: As we learned Sunday, Samuel heard God's call and responded with "Speak, for your servant listens." He is willing to be quiet and listen. He sees himself as a servant, not the served. He belongs to God, not to himself or anybody else. It is then that the Lord knows He is not wasting His breath but has Samuel's ear. Samuel went on to be one of Israel's greatest men who was a blessing then and throughout human history. What would our world be like if in prayer we listened as servants and did not bark off prayer requests like we owned the place or knew what's best? God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason. Let's try using our ears in prayer. Blessings. Pastor Steve

Neeley's Chapel Mid-Week Moment: Why worship? Why bother? Because you are shaped by what you worship and we all will worship something or someone. For example, if you worship money it will shape you into a greedy person. You will be less human and more twisted. But as you worship Jesus worship untangles greed, lust, and other animal like characteristics in your life. From the inside out worshipers of Christ become Christ like as we admire Him. So, individually and corporately, let us focus our attention, admiration and worship on Jesus everyday and together on Sunday. As we do let the transformation begin! "I was glad when they said: let us go to the house of the LORD." PS 122:1. Blessings, Pastor Steve
