In many churches today, there are people who faithfully come forward every service asking for prayer, breakthrough, healing, and blessings. Yet some of the same people disappear during offering time, arrive after worship has begun, or leave before the service is complete.
This is not written to condemn anyone, because only God truly knows each person’s heart and circumstances. But it does raise an important question:
Have we reduced church to a place where we only receive, while forgetting that worship, giving, serving, and commitment are also part of our response to God?
A healthy Christian life is not built only on receiving blessings. It is also built on gratitude, sacrifice, faithfulness, and participation in the body of Christ.
We all need prayer. We all need God’s help. But we should also ask ourselves: Am I only seeking God’s hand, or am I seeking His heart?
Church is not just a place to get something from God; it is a place to worship Him, honor Him, and grow in Him.
May we be believers who are present not only for the blessing, but also for the worship, the giving, the serving, and the commitment that honors the Lord.
