Prayer for our Lenten Mission. Please pray that it is well attended and that it offers an opportunity for a meaningful encounter with our Lord.

God our Father, we thank you for our parish family.
Prepare our hearts to grow closer to you and your Son Jesus Christ
in our upcoming parish mission.

Let this mission be a time of renewal, healing, mercy, grace, and awakening.
Send us the Holy Spirit so that we may encounter you in new and powerful ways.
And not only us Lord, but those friends and family who have fallen away from you.
Give us the courage to invite them back, so you may work in their hearts.

Help us to make a commitment to imitate the first disciples of Jesus.
Like Andrew, give us the zeal to bring others to Christ by inviting them here.
Like Peter, give us the humility to receive your mercy so we can lead others to it.
Like John, let us desire to be near you, even at the cross.

And we ask for the intercession of Mary, the mother of our Lord.
Help us to say “yes” as she did, and be open to coming to this mission to receive the grace of Christ, and leave the mission with the willingness to bear fruit to the world.

Let this parish mission be more than a moment, but a movement.
INSPIRE us with your holy presence. Give us the DESIRE to know you more.
And set our hearts on FIRE with your love, so it may spread to others.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.
