We have someone special to celebrate! 🎓

Join us in congratulating Angeljolee “Jojo” Carter on graduating Summa Cum Laude from Saint Michael’s College!

Many of you know Jojo as the familiar face from our weekly announcements, but she’s also been one of the dedicated people working behind the scenes with our Media Ministry for years. Even while away at college, she has always been willing to jump back in and help whenever she’s home, whether that’s running a camera, directing, graphics, or whatever needs to get done.

We’re so proud of all the hard work, long hours, and dedication that helped her reach this milestone. Watching people grow, chase their goals, and achieve great things is something worth celebrating.

Congratulations, Jojo! Your Shiloh family is cheering you on and excited to see what’s next for you.

🎉 Help us celebrate graduation season!
If you or someone in your family recently graduated, we’d love to recognize them too. Send us a photo along with their name, school, degree, or accomplishment, and we may feature them in an upcoming post.

Can we be honest for a minute?

Some people will test every bit of patience you have.

Sometimes it’s a coworker. Sometimes it’s a family member. Sometimes it’s the person in front of you who apparently has nowhere to be and all day to get there.

And if we’re really honest, sometimes the first thing that comes to mind isn’t exactly something we’d want to say out loud.

That’s why staying connected to God matters.

Not just on Sunday morning. Not just when life is going well. But on a random Thursday when you’re tired, stressed, frustrated, and somebody decides today is the day they’re going to get on your last nerve.

One thing I’ve learned is that being connected to God doesn’t mean you’re better than anybody else. It just means you’re connected to something greater than your own emotions, your own reactions, and your own strength.

Sometimes before you send that text, fire off that email, or say what you’re really thinking, just try saying, “Jesus.”

It sounds simple, but sometimes that’s all it takes to remind yourself who you’re connected to.

And trust me, that’s usually a much better response than whatever I was about to say.

Some Sundays just stay with you.

This past Sunday gave us an opportunity to slow down for a moment, reflect, reconnect, and be reminded of what really matters. Between the music, Communion, and the message from Bishop B.K. Watts, there was a simple challenge woven throughout the morning: don't lose sight of the things that keep you grounded.

Life gets busy. Schedules fill up. Stress happens. It's easy to spend so much time moving from one thing to the next that we never stop long enough to check in with ourselves.

But growth happens when we're intentional. When we make space to reflect, learn, and stay connected to something bigger than our daily routines.

Here are a few moments from Sunday's service that captured the spirit of the day.

If you're looking for a midweek reset, join us online tonight at 6:30 PM for Bible Study. Whether you're a lifelong believer, just curious, or simply looking for some encouragement, you're welcome to join the conversation.

Life has a way of trying to dim what God has placed inside of us.

Disappointment can dim it.
Criticism can dim it.
Fear can dim it.
Confusion can dim it.
Even the everyday pressures of life can make us want to step back and stop using the gifts God has given us.

But God’s Word reminds us:

“Fan into flame the gift of God…” (2 Timothy 1:6)

The gifts God placed in you were never meant to sit on a shelf. They were meant to be used. Whether your gift is serving, teaching, encouraging, leading, giving, showing kindness, creating, helping, or simply being a light to someone else, God has called you to use it for His glory.

You may have been hurt, but rekindle the flame.
You may be tired, but rekindle the flame.
You may have cried some tears, but rekindle the flame.
You may feel uncertain about what’s next, but rekindle the flame.

Remember your faith.
Reject your fears.
Trust the God who placed the gift inside of you.

Don’t let your gift lie dormant. Don’t allow the challenges of life to extinguish what God has started in you. Stir it up. Use it. Grow it. Share it.

The world needs what God put in you.

✨ This week, take one step toward using your gift. Someone’s life may be changed because you did.
