❤️ The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️
If you look closely at the traditional image of the Sacred Heart, it tells a wild story. It’s not a neat, perfect Hallmark heart. It’s a heart on fire, wrapped in thorns, pierced, and bleeding.

It is a visual reminder that Christ does not love us from a safe, comfortable distance. He chose to enter our messy world, take on our wounds, and let His heart be broken so that ours could be healed. His love isn't conditional on us "getting it all together"—His heart is open to us right now, exactly as we are.

Today, let’s rest in that incredible mercy. Whatever burden you're carrying this week, leave it in the safety of His Heart.

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." — Matthew 11:29
What is one thing you are surrendering to the Sacred Heart today? Let us know in the comments, or simply leave a ❤️.

His name literally means "Son of Encouragement," which is a polite biblical way of saying Barnabas was the ultimate hype-man of the Early Church. He was the guy who could find a silver lining in a thunderstorm, and entering a room, he just made everyone feel validated, capable, and loved.

In fact, he was so charismatic that he and St. Paul once preached so powerfully in Lystra that the locals literally mistook them for Greek gods. They decided Barnabas must be Zeus—probably because he had a commanding presence and an excellent beard—and he had to quickly stop them from sacrificing a couple of oxen in his honor. Talk about an awkward day at the office. 🛑⚡

But his real superpower was giving people a second chance. When St. Paul first turned away from his past and showed up to join the Christians, everyone else was understandably terrified. Barnabas was the only one who stepped in, put his arm around Paul, and told the Apostles, "No, for real guys, he’s cool now. He changed his mind about the whole persecuting us thing."
We all need a Barnabas in our lives—someone who believes in us, keeps us positive, and vouches for us when we mess up.

👇 Who is the "Barnabas" in your life? Tag your personal hype-man in the comments below to give them some encouragement today! (And if someone is driving you a little crazy this week... pray for the patience of St. Barnabas!)

📜 Preserving Our Past, Building Our Future! 📜

Every parish in our community has a beautiful story to tell, filled with generations of baptisms, weddings, fish fries, and Sunday mornings. Right now, we are working hard to digitize our church history, old scrapbooks, and photos so these precious memories are preserved for years to come!

But we need your help to fill in the blanks. 📸✨

Do you have old parish scrapbooks, vintage photos, or church memorabilia tucked away at home? If you’re willing to let us borrow and scan them to share with the community, we would love to see them!

💻 Check out our progress: We are updating the history section on our parish website! It is a work in progress, so if your specific parish’s history isn't fully there yet, don't worry—it’s an ongoing update. Keep checking back soon!

Drop a comment below or send us a message if you have a piece of history to share. Let's keep our heritage alive together! 👇

🌟 Welcome to the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus! 🌟
Throughout the month of June, our Church traditionally honors the Sacred Heart—a beautiful reminder of Christ’s endless, burning love and infinite mercy for each of us.

In a world that can often feel chaotic, His Heart is our safe refuge, our peace, and our strength. Let us use these next 30 days to draw closer to Him, open our hearts to His grace, and reflect His love to everyone we meet.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ | June 7

At the end of the Bread of Life discourse, recorded in John 6, many of Jesus' disciples walked away. Not enemies, not Pharisees... but disciples. The people who had been following him.

They weren't confused. The Greek text is precise: where Jesus had previously used the ordinary word for eating, he switched at the critical moment to trōgō...to gnaw or to chew, the verb used for animals at feed.

The USCCB's own footnote on the passage acknowledges the shift directly. His listeners grasped what he was saying. That was the problem.

He did not call them back. He turned to the Twelve and asked: Do you also want to leave?

Tomorrow, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), a beautiful feast honoring the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

We warmly invite all parishioners and members of our community to join us at St. Michael's for this special celebration. Following our traditional 8:00 a.m. Mass, we will gather for an outdoor Eucharistic procession and prayer.

Come walk with us in faith as we publicly witness to Christ's presence among us and seek His blessings for our parish, families, and community. All are welcome!

What a glorious day for our diocesan family! ✨
Today at 10:00 AM, our hearts are overflowing with joy and gratitude as seven faithful men answer the call to serve and are ordained to the Diaconate at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
An ordination is not just a milestone for these men; it is a beautiful, renewing moment for our entire faith community. It reminds us of the power of saying "yes" to God and the deep joy that comes from a life dedicated to service, love, and ministry. As they step into this new chapter, they carry the prayers, love, and support of all of us walking this journey of faith together.
Whether you are down the street or miles away, you can share in this sacred celebration and surround these men with prayer in real-time.
Join the livestream and celebrate with us: 👉 diolc.org/live
Please join us in praying for our new deacons today. May God bless them abundantly as they begin their ministry of charity, word, and sacrament! 🙏❤️

Memorial of St. Boniface, Bishop and Martyr | June 5

When Boniface set out on his final missionary journey at the age of nearly eighty, he had already spent a lifetime doing what most men would have called enough... crossing from England to the Germanic lands, felling the sacred oak of Thor before a crowd that expected divine retribution, founding the Abbey of Fulda, organizing the scattered and half-pagan German Church into coherent dioceses, serving as Archbishop of Mainz.

He had written to the bishops of England: "Let us be neither dogs that do not bark nor silent onlookers."

He headed north the coastline where he had begun and failed forty years before. He knew what he was going back to and on June 5, 754, pagan raiders killed him and his companions as they prepared converts for Confirmation.
