I am going to add self-control to this list. I think it is supremely important that in our submission to the Holy Spirit, and to the fruits of it, (Paul’s commanded in Galatians that we are to walk in the spirit) one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is self-control. Self-control all the way down the line. We are called by Christ to buffer ourselves and deny proclivities and desires that draw us away from him.
