Join us this Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM for Shaker Herbs & Medicinals with our head gardener, Sarah Latifa 🌿

The Shakers were pioneers in the American herbal medicine trade, becoming among the first groups in the United States to grow, package, and distribute medicinal herbs on a commercial scale. This hillside of the New Lebanon Shaker community played an important role in that tradition, housing much of the production side of their operations.

During this hands-on workshop, you'll explore many of the herbs and medicinal plants that still grow in our gardens today, learn about their traditional uses, and discover how the Shakers worked with them. Each participant will also take home Shaker herb starts to begin cultivating these time-honored plants in their own garden.
