Greetings to all. The world has gathered in the city of lights to celebrate the Olympic Games. During the grand opening all the world class athletes rode on ships waving their flags in excitement. They have worked hard to have earned a chance for gold. In between ships they switched to a much different shot. It was a drag queen “last supper.” Then there was a fashion show featuring all the latest styles for the feminized man. Just another insult to our creator. Are you ready for His return? If you don’t have a place to worship you’re welcome to worship with us. We’re the Allegheny Valley Church Of God, 216 Catalpa St. in New Ken. Word and worship at 10:30 and 6:00. Blessings. This weekend we celebrate two contrasting days. It's almost like the alignment of the planets. Tomorrow (3/31) is Resurrection Day (known to some as "Easter") when we worship the incarnate Son of God, Jesus the Messiah. We give thanks to our God for sending His Son to bear the sin of the world so that all who believe in Him may have everlasting life in His presence. The very next day is April 1, or April Fools' day. While many see that as a reason to play bad jokes on folks, I believe it has a divine purpose. After all, the word "fool" and its various forms appears over 100 times in our Bible, mostly in the wisdom literature (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon). While the various authors of the text give us apt descriptions of what it means to be a fool it all boils down to this: "A fool says in his heart there is no God."
Brilliant individuals with IQ's off the chart are called fools because they deny the existence of an intelligent designer. Paul warned Timothy to, "avoid profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called..." So which ever day you claim for yourself have a happy one. If you're a believer you have so much more to be happy about! If you don't have a group of believers you hang with you're welcome to worship with us at the Allegheny Valley Church Of God, 216 Catalpa St. in New Kensington. Word and worship is at 10:30. Please let it be known that the Allegheny Valley Church of God will NEVER solicit funds over Facebook. Recently an individual was approached via messenger. The person claimed to be a friend of ours and scammed the victim for $500 in the form of a Walmart gift card. Never give out your personal information to anyone over the internet. Thank you!
